That means nothing to HBO. They're in to make money too. If more people pay to see a less skilled fighter with a better personality, who do you think they are gonna plug?

exciting, humble, and easy to relate to doesn't make them the most skilled.
You're right. But being the most skilled doesnt mean you put the most coin in HBO's pocket either.

tiger woods gets paid because he's the best and most skilled, not because golf ratings go up when tiger is playing in said tournament on TV.
Tiger Woods makes the bulk of his moneym on endosements. He is the best, but people buy into him because he is also humble and much easier to relate to than Floyd.

Only in boxing would someone like Tiger Woods get paid less than some other mediocre athlete because they are "exciting, humble, and easy to relate to".
Bull****. Its like that in every sport when it comes to selling it to the public. mYou're always gonna see an Emmitt Smith being given endosement opportunities ahead of a Terrell Owens or Pacman Jones.

and also why would you say Floyd hasn't fought good fighters, when the last guy he fought was undefeated and highly ranked?

I'm new to boxing and all but i do know that Ricky Hatton was no joke.
Even some of my hardcore boxing friends Thought Ricky Hatton could beat Floyd.

So i give Floyd props for beating hatton.
the fact of the matter is Hatton was a limited Jr. Welterweight. Just about everyone except casual fans and the Brits thought he would lose. The guy is sorry and he showed it in his last fight against Lazcano and the only big victory he has had was against Kostya Tszyu. Floyd hasn't defended his welterweight title legitametly since Judah and has only fought two top 10 ranked fighters in the division since his move up.

What's more respectable.. a guy who may be limited but is willing to fight whoever whenever regardless of the money involved or someone who has the potential to be a top 20 all time great but choses to pick and chose his opposition and only fight for paydays.

I know Manny isn't better then Mayweather but he deserves that P4P title more and because this is what people say people start throwing around racism.

However when he complained that they are bias I can believe that. For example every few years HBO gets a young prospect usually from the most recent Olympics and they fall in love with them. After the 2000 games Jermain Taylor became the HBO man of choice. They put Jermain on the Boxing After Dark and showed him very often claiming he was " The Future of the Middle Weight Division" . In his first PPV and with about 25 fights he takes on Bernard Hopkins and doesn't beat him convincingly but gets the decision. After he defended his Title and wasn't as impressive as had been anticipated and then that's why the criticism came. He wasn't what they had thought he was and then they trashed him. Before Jermain Taylor lost to Pavlik he fought on HBO every couple months now Kelly beats him and HBO hasn't said his name one single time he cant even get a fight on HBO.

Cotto vs Gomez or Oscar dela Hoya vs Steve Forbes now look how much attention these fights got on HBO. Nobody Critized Miguel Cotto for fight Alfonzo Gomez who didn't have a "snowballs chance in hell" in a fight that had no significance in the division. Then Oscar dela Hoya fights Steve Forbes in what was basically a paid sparring session with a countdown show and its ok nobody cares the announcers even talk about how good Oscar looked even comparing him to his days back in the early 2000's. Now we all know Gomez and Forbes were basically sitting ducks guys that were paid to get beat up on TV and HBO will play it and make it seam to be ok.

          Good Points.

I still Dont understand How Miguel Cotto and Oscar De La Hoya got away with fighting 2 bums. and not only got away with it. But People didnt give them no **** at all for it. My Rican Homies was hyping the Cotto fight up. I thought Cotto was about to fight a giant how they were talking. But it was some outta of shape guy from espn.

I bet if that was Mayweather trying to fight gomez, or stevie forbes. He would have lost his P4P status.

Not smart to commit yourself to such a deal, when after the first fight in the deal you could be worth a whole lot more and cant get out of it, its the same thing that many football players do when they have a good year and try and get their contract renegotiated, Floyd was smart and didnt fall into that trap.
Again, this poster did not know nor care to understand the economics of boxing and is a known Floyd hater.

If HBO is willing to sell their souls while selling out Black people and Black fighters in the process, for a few ppv sales in an attempt to appeal to the majority, that is their prerogative. That doesn't negate the right of the minority though to speak truth to power and tell it like it is. This has always been the case. This is all ironic considering who brought HBO the most revenue over the years [**********]..

No, I'm speaking for the MAJORITY, not one or two outcasts.

Not after they've already molded those opinions after years of trying to manufacture some theme that would be able to compete with other contact sports, such as the UFC.

This is irrelevant. The job of the commentator above all else is to be fair and not disenfranchise, even the minority view since an appeal to popularity doesn't equate fact. This is a common rule of logic and is taught in critical thinking so I'm sure journalists know about it.

More of the same, garbled rhetoric I wish not to get into. Only some delusional spectator wouldn't consider Judah, De la Hoya and Hatton as good (let alone great) opposition. You are to clearly be ignored on that point.
Can you please explain to me why HBO and the world in general has a biased against black fighters but not for any other colored fighters... go ahead please, I'll wait.

Again, you are no better then the red neck who has no job and sits at home blaming it on the Blacks and Latinos for taking Jobs and thinks it's a ***ish conspriacy.

You tell me, what kind of question is this? Is it some kind of rhetorical device that supposedly stimulates me into thinking about it?
