He fought gatti at 140 in late June 2005.

Floyd was a WW for a whole 2 years. 70% of his career was fought at superfeatherweight.

It was closer to 3 years than two when he scrapped the 2nd DLH fight and retired. In that time he fought. Mitchell. Lmao!! a crap fight. He fought Judah. Tough welterweight, good fight. He fought Oscar at 154. A good fighter, but a part time fighter and hen never defended at jr. middle. He fought Hatton who had already showed he wasnt as effective at 147 as he was at 140. The lat two fights were made for the sole reason of money. In that time Cotto has fought Mosely, Judah and Quintana. ALL rated welters who are STILL rated there. In that time Margarito fought Cintron, Williams and Clottey. ALL were rated in the top 10 and still are. To top it off....Margs and Chad signed to fight each other before Fraud retired. Any way you want to do the math, these guys have fought better welterweight comp.

Hopefully Mayweather comes out of retirement and beat pacaman and claim P4P best again. Any weight class Mayweather will win.

It's 2.5 yrs since, most fighters would have 7 fights in that period he only had 5, and 2 were not welters. Sure he fought Oscar for the money, but what's the point of a rematch when there's other top welters out there?!?!

His retirement surely just came in at the right moment when he really has no way out of a fight w/ either cotto or margarito. damn that sucks huh? didn't get the point yet?

I find it odd/peculiar that Money May criticized HBO (racist?) after what they've done.

Of course there's always two sides to every story and the negative/controversial ones always get the most play.
                    Some things we'll never know.

Floyd should just be thankful for how far he's gotten in the sport albeit still leaving a lot of his fans wanting for more.

He's still bitter about some things.

                    No doubt he'd beat Pac.

He should unretire and face Cotto for one last hurrah.

I think he's going to regret retiring, not because of a desire thing, but because he got to the age of 31 undefeated without taking on the best. It's too late to start tackling the best now. If he takes a bunch of time off, he can't come back and fight Cotto, who will have been a defending champion and battle-tested (win or lose). Certainly not Margarito, who Floyd promised he would fight with a handshake (on video), and then had him banned from all of his press conferences. Not Pacquaio who's speed would make Floyd's look like George Foreman. I think Williams would be a nightmare for him, throwing 80-90 punches a round, 6 1/2 inches of height, a huge reach advantage, bigger speed and power...

If he would have spent the last 3 years of his career fighting these guys, his legacy as an all-time great would be cemented, regardless of the outcome. It's not about the "0", it's about the competition, and simply winning the majority of the big contests.
