Like all Pavlik fights, this one would come down to two things: 1) Can Kelly hit his opponent and 2) Can his opponent take his shots?

Paul Williams has an excellent chin, and is capable of producing very elusive displays of distance boxing when in with a big puncher, just as he did against Margarito.

He is also much much faster then Kelly Pavlik, and one of the only guys who could match him for height and reach. Workrate too.

What if Williams just got on his bike all night and Kelly couldn't catch him, what if Williams threw more punches than Kelly? What if Pavlik's best shots didn't put him down?
What if Kelly fought with one arm? What if......

When discussing hypthetical fights all things are "what if?". Point being all the things I've mentioned could actually happen. Williams is faster than Pavlik, he does have a good chin, he can match Kelly for workrate, just as Pavlik is the harder hitter.

If Williams did not crumble under Pavliks power, or even was actually able to handle it quite easily, then he would have a massive chance to get a decision.

There is a difference between could happen and likely to happen. I could get struck by lightning today but it's not likely.

True, but most people who step through the divisions like that aren't as successful. Williams might turn out to be a great fighter, but right now he doesn't seem like he'll be as good as RJJ or B-Hop.

Williams might become a very good MW, but I think he should take it slowly.

I don't think its that unlikely that a guy with a good chin might be able to take another guys shots.

and taking in the fact that Willimas is a natural 160 pounder..I mean just look at his frame.

You're basing your opinion off things that have happened at 147 not 160. Fact is it's a guess at best and a random one at that.

                      Good chin at welterweight.
Williams is used to taking punches (and he takes a lot of them) from guys he outweighs by 10 lbs. Against Pavlik he would be the one outweighed by 10 lbs.

Margarito is a good welterweight as well but he was having quite a bit of trouble at LMW against Daniel Santos who is no Kelly Pavlik.
