I would give Williams a huge chance if his chin turns out to be good enough to take Pavlik's best shots.

I see absolutely no reason why, if he could, we would not see a repeat of the Margarito - Williams fight.

Whether he actually could take the shots though, is pretty debateable to say the least.

How bout this... Pavlik is a 4 inches taller than Margarito and fights a totally different style than Margarito.

Yep. But just like Margarito, Pavlik is slow and forward only and wins his fights by breaking down his opponent through the cumulative power of his shots.

Williams would not have to do anything differently whatsoever from the Margarito fight, he could box in exactly the same way. The only real difference would be the degree of power of Kelly Pavlik compared to Margarito, and if Paul could take it, he could win IMO.

People talk about Williams fighting below his natural weight, but some guys are freakishly skinny, in the same way that a guy like Tyson is naturally well-built.

I know that Williams puts on weight in between the weigh in and the fight, but so do a lot of boxers, and the fact is that very few could be as light as Williams is for his height without suffering serious strength and stamina loss.

If Williams is going to succeed as MW he should take it slowly. Step up to LMW, grow into it for at least 2 fights. Then go to MW and fight someone who isn't the best in the division. Then he'll know how good he can be at 160.

Many boxers take a couple of fights to grow into a new weight division. It would take even longer if stepping up 2 weight divisions, even if you are very tall for your weight.

Not really. In the fight I saw the major factor was Williams' speed.
