AFTER the Mayweather fight, Corrales beat up on his wife due to some personal issues and got 14 months in prison for domestic abuse.

      thanks for the info
He wasn't too reluctant to land power shots on his pregnant wife!

Yeah, he plead no contest to that charge and went to jail after the Mayweather fight.

He is one of the 3-5 best. I rate Arguello and Nelson higher, but Floyd is up there for sure. Chavez, Saddler and Elorde are other guys who could be in this conversation.

He had already beaten her up and was facing a trial date 2 weeks after the fight. They clearly say it in the HBO version that everyone (including you) has on their computer. It's in the Corrales interview portion at the start, when he is talking about the difficulties of cutting weight or whatever.

boxing is a very mental sport. If you were preparing for a fight and knew you had to go to jail a week or something after the fight, it would throw off anyone. I dont like excuses, but sometimes they are legit. you just need them to be well documented and make sense.

Agreed, Corrales would have kicked the **** out of Mayweather if he wasn't weight drained, Beat up his wife or simply not on his level.

I do think you need more than 4 fights at a weight to be considered great. The 2nd Castillo fight was extremely good for Mayweather though. (talking about 135 obviously)

While many say his biggest win was vs chico i think Castillo was a much better win. Philip N'dou was 31-1-0 when he fought Floyd and his one loss was 6 year before the fight, i call that a pretty good opponent considering today's champions are fighting tittle fights against much worse challengers (on paper that is), lets see, Vitoriano i can't really tell, don't think i saw him fight.

Mayweather has very very excellent defense that hard to hit even the strong punches of ODL cannot penetrate.
