This would explain it. and its not just the jail thing, maybe he was still emotionally messed up after realising that he hit his wife. like I said, I need to look into it more...but thats the first and only time Ive seen Corrales like that, and that was the first and only time he has had to go through a court situation like that.
so you cant really blame me for putting them together.
I don't know i just dont see corrales as a mentally soft person! I think 99% of what happened in the ring was due to mayweathers doing.

Mayweather clearly beats Corrales 99.5 out of 100 times. That .5 is reserved for a possibility of a huge punch landing... because Corrales did have the power at that weight, but yeah... best clinic ever, really.

Unfortunately, resumes are decided on what actually happens. He got a less than perfect Corrales, so he is judged by that. Even if he could beat the perfect Corrales, he can't get credit for it, because he didn't actually do it.

A lot of people think Floyd would have no trouble with Cotto, but he doesn't get credit for Cotto on his resume, just because people are speculatory about him winning over Cotto.

You say that Freitas and Casamayor ducked Mayweather at 130? That's fine, it's not a negative point on Floyd's resume if that is the case, but he doesn't get credit for beating them, because that wasn't the reality of what happened.

Is it unfair that resumes are judged this way? Yes and no, but there really isn't a better way to do it. If we did include speculation, there would be a case for every single elite fighter in history to be an ATG.

They are still millionaires and have everything they had before when they get out a week later. IM sure dudes in there respect and love to talk to a corrales in jail. Plus corrales knew he was going to jail for a little bit. There was nothing to think about he pleaded no contest and accepted his time shortly after the fight. He went in to the floyd fight knowing he was going to plead nc and do a little time. It might have even motivated him even more to train harder one last time!
you actually have no idea what his mental state was at that time... Alot of distractions commonly leads to unfocused training. He was facing jail time and his personal life was in the crap shoot, that is quite a big distraction.

that said, Corrales had little chance of beating Floyd.

I agree it was a horrible style matchup, but Corrales wasnt even stalking...he was just walking foward, not even throwing punches. Even a stalker ends up throwing at least 30 punches a round. I think he would have gotten his ass kicked either way, Floyd was on point that night. but something still didnt seem right about Corrales...Im pretty sure Ive seen people before that fight flat out run from Corrales before, and Corrales was more enthusiastic in those moments than even the first minute of the Mayweather fight.
              but who knows?

Which 130 lber beat better fighters than Mayweather at 130 lbs and Who would you pick to beat him in a head to head matchup at 130?

                Mayweather at 130:

Perfect weight, quickest fighter ive seen there with great power, better footwork, everything floyd does now was much better at the lower weights apart from maybe the potshotting. Made 8 Title defenses against Corrales (Undefeated, P4P #5, Ranked above Mayweather at 130), Chavez, Genaro Hernandez (Even if he was on his way out no one beat him at 130, he had to fight Oscar at 135 at that fight was fairly competitive, atleast he won a couple of rounds, a 17-0, 21 year old Dominated him., El Famoso was decent too.

I don't know the answer to either question. I am ****ing terrible on questions of history.

I do know that you will have an easier time finding a resume that beats his than a fighter to beat him at 130.

EDIT: This thread is definately a question of resume though. Leave the head to head at home, or make a new thread, because I guarantee you this thread is about resume.
