laughable statement! i am a fan of kessler, and pavlik, but i find it very funny how pavlik was ridiculed for fighting lockett, and taking 3 lousy rds to get rid of him. yet kessler gets alot of big praise for knocking out a bum in 12 who never even had more than a 10 rd fight prior! comical!

Donetsk, Ukraine...check it out on the map, granted I moved to the states when I was 7, I'm still fair and impartial.

I don't think anyone is completely impartial, and birthplace alone does not affect how you view things. In many cases it can be completely irrelevant.

Another thing I never understand is why Americans seem to think that Europe is one giant country where everyone has a continental bias. Most people in the UK like Americans far more than they like the French, Germans etc. and we watch American fighters more often than we watch fighters from the continent.

I don't agree with this. I think Pavlik got 10x more praise immediately after the Lockett fight than Kessler will get for tonight's performance.

I never ridiculed Pavlik. Also if you read the posts properly you would see that we were comparing Pavlik's record before Taylor with Kessler's before Calzaghe, in which case Kessler has clearly fought the better opposition.

IMO you're pretty biased in favor of the fighters you see in america. But thats just an opinion.

And I know where Ukraine is and I know Donetsk which was a key city in WWII.

I have no proof that Calzaghe would beat Pavlik, but I do have reasons, which I could explain if you'd like. I'm not someone who states my opinions as if they are fact, and have posted before that Pavlik beating Calzaghe is very possible.

The difference is that I can't quite understand your reasoning for being so sure that Pavlik would beat this guy quicker than Kessler did, and would like you to explain it.

                    You seem to be saying:

                    1. Pavlik is better than Kessler
                    Why?
                    2. Because Pavlik would beat Sartison quicker
                    Why?
                    3. Because Pavlik is better than Kessler

                    Circular logic.
Maybe because Pavlik hits harder than Kessler? How many rounds do you think Mundine would last with Kelly Pavlik? Pavlik was the only guy to KTFO of Miranda, Abraham punches hard yet couldnt do it, Eastman is a puncher as well couldnt do it. Taylor has a solid chin, got KTFO by Pavlik. Pavlik is a consistent puncher who not only throws 100+ punches per round, but is very accurate with every punch he throws, he always starts quick, where as Kessler has more patience, Kessler boxed before he could tire out Fartison, Pavlik wouldn't do that, he would connect that jab...jab...and then boom that right hand.

your a knowledgable poster so i question you for questioning me why pavlik would finish it quicker than kessler, i mean havent you seen both of them fight? dont you know they have complete different fighting styles?

                    i hope this helps you.

Pavlik wasn't ridiculed. In fact I think most of us felt that Pavlik deserved a freebee after a string of tough opponents. The one ridiculed was Kessler despite him facing stiff competition in all his championshipfights.
