roys LEGS are the biggest thing that has deteriorated, so staying in the middle of the ring IMO gives the advantage to joe... staying on the ropes, equalizes that advanatage, and now its just whose better with the hands, and ill take roy all day

Im not sure how he should fight this fight if it does happen, i dont mind him backing up and Boxing on the back foot as long as he does 'nt lay on the ropes and let Calzaghe pumell him

IMO Roy is not very good at Tying people up i think he needs to work on this against Calzaghe cause he is nearly 40 there is no way he is gonna be able to use lateral movement for the whole fight his back will hit the ropes sooner or later ,when he does get get trapped on the ropes and he needs to be able to Tie Calzaghe up

That's a good point, Hopkins was able to land a counter right in the 7th round of Calzaghe-Hopkins when his back was on the ropes.

I don't think Jones has the legs to keep Calzaghe in the center of the ring anymore so he'll try to counter effectively off the ropes when Calzaghe opens himself up and at the same time, he won't be expending too much energy.

Roy has one more left in him IMO.

Joe better not take him lightly if they did fight, Roy ain't no joke. This would be Joe's tougher assessment to date IMO.

I don't care were this fight takes place, am going!

Dont you think there's an excellent chance Roy could be overwhelmed by the speed? I mean he's not used to punches coming in that fast. Not anymore at least. Hanshaw, Prince, Tito? They all throw at a snails pace compared to Joe.

yup, ali is his favorite fighter, and he has talked a lot about how he has studied ali later in his career, u can see how roy has been adjusting his game to make up for his age lately.. i admire that..

If they stay in the middle of the ring, roys legs cant keep up with joe IMO... back on the ropes you take legs out of the equation and now its whose better with the hands, and ill take roy all day on that

i agree if Roy hits Joe the way B Hop did he is gonna get hurt i dont care how good his chin is

Marco Barrera has been knocked out

Roy is a much sharper puncher than Hopkins and he has better timing and a better Arsenal of combintations

joe does those wide armed looping quick flurries with his guy on the ropes, and thats when QUICK straight right hands and uppercuts will be used...

You think roy is trying to make this fight because he thinks joe is too good? or because he cant beat him?

roy sees something, and hes chasing it, big time.

It would be a dangerous tactic though because as Antonio said, Jones could get overwhelmed with the amount of fast punches Calzaghe throws.

If the tactic works, Jones will be called a genius, if it doesn't, people will call him shot and/or ******.

well, if it doesnt work... then he may very well be shot...

it doesnt matter what i think or say, roys gonna do his own thing obviously.. I peronsally feel roy will better off on the ropes.. but i know roy will fight in the center of the ring as well...

contrary to people saying how will roy deal with joes speed

id like to know how joe will deal with the fastest punches hes ever had coming at him in his career... cuz bernard sure fared well, and his punches arent close to the speed or power or accuracy of roys... STILL.

thats my fear and that is why i think he needs to start working on tying up his oponents a bit more

when u watch the Tarver 1 ,Johnson ,Hanshaw ,Prince Badi fights Jones spends way to much time on the ropes and did not look comfortable when needing to tie his oponents up

Jones needs to tie him up then walk him back so he is back in range to counter punch
