We are talking strength, not power.

Strength allows you to boss a fighter around the ring, and Joe has done that to every single one of his opponents, even the bigger man in Hopkins.

Sorry but if the fight it's at middleweight, I don't see Calzaghe bossing Pavlik. At Supermiddle weight probably.

        Calzaghe can't punch? That's nonsense.
So what if he's bigger? Pavlik has proven that muscle isn't everything. Notice how he made your boy Lockett look ****** and I think he will do the same thing to Calzaghe.

Joe C can't match pavlik's punchin power, but he can match his physical strength. I think Pavlik would lose a 12 rd decision in this fight.

So he is a lot more powerful, and capable of harder shots than we see today. A shame really, if he was able to hit as hard as he did and can, he'd be unstoppable imo. It's testament to Calzaghe's elite ness that he manages to win without that old asset of his.
So who gives a **** what Joe did 7 years ago? The thread is about a Pavlik vs. Joe fight now.

Calzaghe can punch easily as hard as JT, and will be hitting Pavlik with a lot regularity.

A lot of people don't realise that Joe does still load up slightly on one or two punches in his flurries. He throws the flurry, then when his opponent is confused by the angles he uses, he sits down on one or two, then continues using speed punches to finish the flurry.

How else do you think he earned the respect of the hard hitting Lacy? Or Kessler? Or Hopkins? Or anyone else he has ever fought?

Joe can ****, don't be fooled.
If i am correct Lacy took a **** load of punches from Calzaghe and still lasted 12 rounds. Fighters like Kessler or Pavlik would of ended it in about 6/7 rounds had they landed that much on him. In his prime he has way better power but today it is not there. Calzaghe's power wouldn't be a factor if he faced Pavlik. He would have to his his movement and speed to get him the victory.

If Cal hits so ****ing hard what happened with Lacy? He dominated him and had him hurt right? Don't get me wrong Cal is one heluva boxer but you ****ing ******s are making him sound like a straight up ko artist.

Kelly on the other hand would of put Lacy out of his misery the second he had him hurt.
