Ok, so he didn't win the lineal championship against Hopkins that night.

He got caught cold. What's more important, howvere, is that he got up and won the fight.

Calzaghe can punch, none of his opponents say he slaps AFTER the fight. Hopkins, one of the most disrespectful fighters around, didn't mention Joe slapping after the fight. I wonder why that is?

Edit: just noticed this too, but you have kind of nullified your own arguement with that picture. Look at Calzaghe's eyes. His head is clear and he knows exactly where he is and what is going on.

I think you have to be careful comparing Kessler and Pavlik. There's only so far you can go with it. After Joe's great win against Kessler I am reserving judgement on Kessler until he comes back and proves himself again. It's important to see where he goes from here so we know how good he really is.

But Joe was brilliant against Kessler that night and it's worth adding that Joe took some tasty shots early on too, I remember some stinging uppercuts that caught Joe from Kessler. Joe can take a punch and if he takes too many he has the ability to change his plan of attack slightly and go a different route to win.

Great champions find a way to win and Joe has this in his locker. Provided his hands hold up and old father time doesn't catch him cold all of a sudden he'll be too much for Pavlik.
