Floyd should give HIMSELF a chance to be the greatest. Cotto/Margarito winner would be a start. You don't become the GREATEST of all time by avoiding the big fights. No matter HOW MUCH you've already proven, you take on all comers. That's that. He wants to be the best business-man in boxing, that's fine.

But these are two seperate claims.

To be the best, you fight the best opponents. PERIOD.

He can claim it'll happen, but until then... HE'S not giving HIMSELF a chance.

Hes already taken the risks. De La Hoya was a big risk. It was a move up in weight.

to me he's just not as good as SRR, SRL, Hearns, Ali or Duran were (Hearns Ali and Duran are more debatable than the other two tjough)

Agreed. Not enough losses on his resume (0). Plus he's never even been floored or knocked out. No way can he be the best until he survives a close fight or gets knocked into the front row or loses 5 straight.

Because bouncing BACK is more important than WINNING. It is much more impressive to see a guy lose his first 20 fights and then win a title belt than to see a guy go undefeated his entire career in five weight classes with only one close fight in which he only had one arm to use.
