i dont want to see a toe to toe fight...........if is happens, it happens........i want to see skills and toe to toe action................floyd fans know the difference between arrogance and business...........it's arrogance when he says no "disrespect to sugar robinson"........it's business to say why he is fighting dlh over cotto...........but even floyd's fans will get on him about not fighting cotto or margs...........cotto and margs fans keep assuming floyd's fan are happy he is not fighting cotto....far from the truth.........those are the fake cotto and margs fans.........the phony ones..............................when the time comes to call floyd out as a floyd fan, ill will call him out......
The Ray Robinson thing... I think that first of you can't compare it... and second of all... the media changes everything. Floyd is exposed to everyone. Everybody can watch his fights etc. There are only a few tapes of Robinson. So if Ray Robinson would fight today he would have probably the same standing as Mayweather. Because there are 4 world titles. You probably won't fight the best but still be champion and with the talent of Ray Robinson ppl would get bored and say or he fights loosers, but he only make them look like. Boxers usually speak good about boxers. Ray Leonard in an interview stated that he thinks that Floyd is one of the best. And every boxer and historian says that Ray Robinson was the best. Probably they right. But again who's the best is a bias decision. Many times we consider somebody the best because somebody did something at first and if you see it again it's like yeah but it's not the original. Again I don't doubt Ray Robinson but if he would fight today who knows??? And Ray Robinson was one of the toughest business man ever!!! He even said that he just boxes for money... so if it was like that back then and you can respect him for that, I don't know why it should be different today in this worldComment

Floyd and that fat ass manager of his don't know ****in ****, they talk out thier asses and are full of it. They think too damn highly of themselves. They claim Floyd is the leading man in boxing therefore he don't have to fight the fights the public demands. There has always been a leading man in boxing, and that man always fought those demanding fights, so why are they now, so special that they gotta have it differently. Oscar is the richest boxer in history because he fought everyone. He never put himself on a pedestal and claimed that other great fighters were not worthy enough to fight him. Miguel is just as good as Floyd, but they keep making excuses not to fight him, cuz theyre scared & they don't wanna lose that "0".Comment

Mayweather is a joke if robinson fought the weak competition he fought he would be undefeated to the three toughest fighters on his ledger are delahoya, judah, and castillo all of who almost beat him and none of which could be considered great fighters, but they all all almost defeated the self proclaimed baddest fighter ever.
He is a joke and a fraud who is trying to sell the boxing public a bill of goods he is scared of any real threat thats what it comes down to, now hagler is a true all time great as well as many others whitaker, hearns, leonard, duran, chavez truly great fighters who proved it.Comment

Floyd Mayweather Jr. comment about Sugar Ray Robinson's not being undefeated was ridiculous!!! First of all, Pretty Boy Floyd doesn't hold a candle not only to Ray Robinson but Ray Leonard for that matter either!!
The Reason why legends like Leonard, Hagler,Duran, Hearns & others were so great was the fact that they could do it all, box, slug, knock ppl out & take punishment well...Floyd is AFRAID to mix it up? Nobody even knows what kind of chin he's got yet, and he just prefers to flutter around the ring only doing what he has to do to survive or win the fight without taking any form of risk? How the hell can Mayweather have any kind of nerve to even try & convince any true boxing fan that he's even in the same class or catagory as a Ray Robinson or Ray Leonard or an of those guy's?
I admit, talent is talent, and Mayweather has skill no doubt about it..but when he starts comparing himself to these legends like Sugar Ray Robinson & others..I have to laugh..those guys were warriors of the ring..Floyd is FAR from being any form of warrior!!!
He's just another flashy boxer with a big mouth until someone shuts it for him when or if Floyd EVER decides to excite the fans & actually FIGHT someone...
Not, prance around the ring & play it safe all the time? Do you even think for one second that a prime Sugar Ray Leonard would let Carlos Baldomir go the distance with him? Not likely..Ray Leonard would've blitzed 'em outta there as soon as he knew he could..that's the sign of a true blue warrior...not some fake-ass wanna-be self-proclaimed legend like Floyd..he's good, but certainly not one of the all-time greats..not yet anyhow?
Have u ever boxed before?? The object of the game is to hit and not get hit. Nobody wants to take unnecessary punishment thats just plain dumb even when your the best boxer in the world.
ONE PUNCH CAN END A FIGHT MY FRIEND!!Last edited by sicklelee; 06-01-2008, 03:45 PM.Comment
