i dont want to see a toe to toe fight...........if is happens, it happens........i want to see skills and toe to toe action................floyd fans know the difference between arrogance and business...........it's arrogance when he says no "disrespect to sugar robinson"........it's business to say why he is fighting dlh over cotto...........but even floyd's fans will get on him about not fighting cotto or margs...........cotto and margs fans keep assuming floyd's fan are happy he is not fighting cotto....far from the truth.........those are the fake cotto and margs fans.........the phony ones..............................when the time comes to call floyd out as a floyd fan, ill will call him out......

I like that, maybe I should also start to argue like these other cats. Until now I defended and gave opponents their dues, but probably I should change that also...

Let's see... yes, he beat the great Zab Judah or wait Mayweather already beat him years before. Tough Fight, Floyd even beat him without cheap shots. Then he fought Shane Mosley. A great boxer who his past his prime but wait oh Floyd did the same against DLH. But Mosley has far more left in his tank then DLH of course. And then after these tough fights of course it is allowed to take a breather against Gomez who is a pretty good boxer. Way better than Ricky Hatton. Yeah slowly I really start to see why Cotto is that good. And he fights against Margarito. Margarito who is the toughest there ever was. The man who looses against mediocre opposition every now and then but beat up Kermin Cintron badly. And if it wasn't enough he beat him one more time in a rematch. Oh wait Floyd is doing the same with DLH but Cintron is at least two levels above DLH... I really start to see why Cotto and Margarito are so great *laugh*

Yeah your people right, it really makes more fun to run down others until now I never did (exception Bernard Hopkins) but it's really fun

It was Dave Anderson, I think he writes for the New York Times, who said a promoter would never be sure that Robinson would fight until he entered the ring.

He even threatened to pull out of a fight about 20 minutes before the bout because he learned the fight would be broadcast in another country where Ray didn't get rights for.

His draw in December 1960 against Gene Fullmer, which was maybe Ray's last great effort, has been blamed by some by people in the industry just holding a grudge towards Ray for all the people he pissed off over the years.

It was considered a robbery as most feel Ray clearly won.

The Reason why legends like Leonard, Hagler,Duran, Hearns & others were so great was the fact that they could do it all, box, slug, knock ppl out & take punishment well...Floyd is AFRAID to mix it up? Nobody even knows what kind of chin he's got yet, and he just prefers to flutter around the ring only doing what he has to do to survive or win the fight without taking any form of risk? How the hell can Mayweather have any kind of nerve to even try & convince any true boxing fan that he's even in the same class or catagory as a Ray Robinson or Ray Leonard or an of those guy's?

I admit, talent is talent, and Mayweather has skill no doubt about it..but when he starts comparing himself to these legends like Sugar Ray Robinson & others..I have to laugh..those guys were warriors of the ring..Floyd is FAR from being any form of warrior!!!

He's just another flashy boxer with a big mouth until someone shuts it for him when or if Floyd EVER decides to excite the fans & actually FIGHT someone...

Not, prance around the ring & play it safe all the time? Do you even think for one second that a prime Sugar Ray Leonard would let Carlos Baldomir go the distance with him? Not likely..Ray Leonard would've blitzed 'em outta there as soon as he knew he could..that's the sign of a true blue warrior...not some fake-ass wanna-be self-proclaimed legend like Floyd..he's good, but certainly not one of the all-time greats..not yet anyhow?
            No...

The reason those guys were great is because they either won or performed very well in the fights that defined them... against the best out there.

Or are you one of those geniuses that thinks Whitaker sucks because he didn't "mix it up"?

cotto and margs fans hang on to every little thing so that they can display their phony hate..............if cotto calls out floyd............IF he wins...........and there is no guarantee he will............i bet floyd takes the fight.............the winner or margs-cotto should be big enough to call floyd out, and the fight would sell........they don't have to even call him out...........public demand will be too big.........everywhere floyd goes, someone will be screaming the name of the cotto-margs winner.........floyd will have no choice but to retire, or fight one of these men........

Mayweathers additude about being the best is something that most boxers of his calibre have. If mayweather fought in the 40s/50's and Ray Robinson fought right now, he would likely say the exact same **** about floyd. These dudes are on another level with their arrogance and it allowed them to be the fighters they are/were. Thats why when he mouths off about robinson etc, its that type of additude that keeps the haters hating, and himself motivated that no one on the planet can touch him. Dude is talkin out of his ass, but i fully understand why he does it, and if you examine other top flight fighters of other generations they talked out of the side of their mouth in the exact same manner.

No, they are great because of what they achieved. Whom they fought and beat.

Tommy Loughran is a legitimate great. So are Maxie Rosenbloom and Miguel Canto. Take a look at how many guys they knocked out. Kid Gavilan was a flashy and often aggressive fighter, but he was hardly a KO artist.

Willie Pep scored a lot of KOs, but he won less than 30% of his fights by KO. He's regarded by most as a top 10 fighter all-time.

Pernell Whitaker is arguably the finest boxer of the last 20 years, and hardly anyone would deny his greatness. He wasn't exactly a knockout machine, with 17 KOs in 40 wins.

the true best fighters in the world have a loss. theres no fighter who went down as an all time great who was undefeated because you cant win every time when you fight the best.
