This guy already has. I wonder about the people who seem to give a **** about what Floyd does. Its not likes he's the end of boxing. Sure, I'll read what said about him from a fan standpoint, but if he wants to act a fool at the clubs or chase the money fight s only, thats his business. Cotto and Marg more than make-up for what Floyd's not doing.

This statement sums up the exact problem I have with Mayweather. He seems more worried about keeping an undefeated record than he does proving he is the best boxer there is in the sport. And unfortunately those two goals don't always go together.Comment

Well good news for everyone!
Floyd did absolutely nothing to stop the people criticizing him, because he said he is fighting for money and not legacy.
Well good deal, a De La Hoya match WILL get him the money he desires, and since he doesn't care about his legacy, it is obviously going to take away from that.
And Floyd doesn't even care! Because he is getting money!

The whole world knew he was going to beat those fighters. PBF is one of those guys consumed on his achievements and scare to death on losing his undefeated status. This article is a pathetic response to all the constant pressure on his ass about fighting Cotto. If he is as great as he claims, then his name alone should be enough to sell millions on a fight. ODLH had that celebrety status, PBF doesn't. Any fight were the name OSCAR DE LA HOYA is will sell millions, period. PBF needs to fight Oscar, or be related to any other mainstream icon (like WWE) to make millions, period. The evidense is overwhelming and growing with each passing week. PBF talks the talk, but can't walk the walk.
Too bad real boxing fans did not get the opportunity to see PBF fight Mosley, as that fight might never happen. The Margarito-Cotto winner will get the respect they earned and deserved as the best WELTER WEIGHT. Even the loser of the fight should be consider a top boxer that PBF should fight IF HE REALLY WANTS TO BECOME THE GREATEST FIGHTER OF ALL TIME. If he doesn't, history will remember him as another "might had been the greatest if...".Comment

True, true. He is the owner of his thoughts, decisions and acts. That's why he is Floyd Money Mayweather, soon not-to-be-the-best-pound-per-pound-boxer-in-the-world. (IMO, he lost taht status by the end of 2007.)Comment
