Name the best opponent Floyd has ever fought? How good was that opponent when Floyd fought him? Was he undefeated? Was he in his prime? Did he meet any or ALL of these criteria? Does Cotto meet all of these criteria? The bottom line is Floyd hasnt fought anybody good in their prime.Comment

Mayweather has become a fantastic orator in the past couple years. He knows how to sell himself and convince people of what he wants them to believe. He will downplay Cotto all he likes, but it doesn't change the fact that Cotto has been his most legitimate challenger for the past couple of years. I mean, who else do you want Cotto to beat? The man has already trashed Judah who Floyd, lets face it, couldn't really dent.. beat a legitimate, proven Welterweight in Shane Mosley.. coming off some big wins at that weight.. he blew out Quintana who beat Paul Williams easily... the mans resume speaks for itself. He's a real fighter, a throwback. He can box and punch, and he's an elite boxer. A genuinely multi-gifted fighter in the prime of his career.
The Oscar rematch is purely about money. Oscar is the biggest cash cow out there. Its the biggest fight to be made in terms of money and mainstream attention. Fighting Oscar is for Floyd to prove his celebrity. Fighting Cotto is to prove his boxing greatnessComment

Carlos Quintana
Shane Mosley
Zab Judah
(soon to be) Antonio Margarito
Top 10 welterweights that Mayweather has faced:
Carlos Baldomir
Zab Judah
...and no, Hatton doesn't count. RING removed him from their top 10 welterweights when he moved back down to 140. It's a no brainer than Cotto has fought better opposition than Mayweather at 147.
Don't use titles such as 'linear' to justify the Baldomir win, or 'top 10 p4p' to justify the Hatton win as being better than the Mosley win. Mosley is an elite fighter at 147.Comment

Let Floyd have his way by fighting DLH next....
I hope the Ring is Smaller~
But at some point in his PRIME, he should fight Miguel Cotto...
Money is important but LEGACY is more important~
It will be a BAD Mark in his career if he never fought MC!!!Comment

Mayweather just validated what a lot of us have been saying. He's a coward who's afraid to lose, the pressure is starting to get to him and it will break him. I just can't wait till july 26 when Cotto beats Margarito, the whole boxing community will come down on this fool.Comment

mr"money" talks about the great ray robinson like he was nothing with the losses on his record, does floyd know how many fights ray robinson had?
QUESTION: floyd, how would you respond to a defeat?
A: like ray did? B: or run away like some has been ***** like nasseem hamed?
ANSWER: probably the latter as the respect and lack of proffesionalism in the sport that you continue to diss and use as a means to become a rich *****!
just like my countryman hamed, whats down the line ? prison?
walkin around like mr fkin invincible just makes people go off him.
ive watched p.b.f since he beat manfredy and even then i thought the money that is coming will go to his head.
hes turned into a right wanker, a master of defence, good speed but thats it.
ray robinson had it all and did it as floyds sayin about himself " without thinking".
outside the ring he conducted himself with grace and respect to all man.
i do put floyd in the top twenty of all time but not the best, LOOOONG WAY OFF YET.
let us not be convinced that 39/0 means the greatest!
when he gets to 50/60 and 0 maybe.....further up the list depending on who hes fighting and at what weight catagory.
ok, heres my pick on who will lick floyd.
firstly and its his mandatory defence: andre berto....yeah i think he would.
paul williams has a chance, cotto also has the brute force to bully him for real.
r.h plz dont ricky. o.d.l.h. possibly in the return but oscar needs to be swinging the whole time and keep throwing.
heres my outsider...........edwin valero to knock him out in the first round!!!!
ya never know.......
Especially, if he talked the way he does, about Robinson, Then he'd be taken out even sooner.
When Robinson lost his first fight he'd been fighting only a couple of years, and it was the famous Jake LaMotta who beat him, outweighing him by 15 lbs.
I don't know how many posters have actually seen Robinson, but as a welterweight he was at his elite best. As a middleweight, after the LaMotta fight in which he won the middleweight title, (he fought him 6 times in all) he was actually quite a bit past his best, although he made his greatest fame (and money) as a middleweight.
I can think of at least a dozen or more, oh many more, of Robinson's opponents who would have made "minced-meat" of Mayweather.Comment
