Which Margarito is better Status Wise..The One that Fought Paul Williams or the one that will fight Miguel Cotto..???

Explain How This Margarito is better then the Margarito Paul Williams Fought Status wise...if you compare to the two fighters Margarito fought before he fought each fighter.....????

Paul Williams vs. Margarito ( Clottey, undefeated Cintron)
Miguel Cotto vs. Margarito ( Golden Johnson, repeat victory over Cintron)

So do you think the Margarito that is fighting Cotto right now...Is more hyped then the Margarito that fought Williams...??

And this right after Margarito beat a 30-1 Joshua Clottey and undefeated Kermit Cintron for the first time.....

Margarito That Fought Williams had (the most feared man in the world tag)

I still maintain that the Rito that williams fought was more hyped than the one cotto is fighting, If anyone tell you otherwise its because they wanted Cotto's victory to look good, Just like when cotto fought judah after mayweather had beaten him,If Cotto beat Rito impressively then that would mean alot.

Miguel winning would be more impressive because he doesn't have williams physical advantages nor does he have Williams great chin.

The one that fought Williams should be rated higher. All Margarito has done since then is beat a guy he already beat before.

It's the same fighter. Styles make fights and it will depend on HOW Miguel Cotto beats him, if he does in fact beat him.

If Miguel Cotto gets his first L against Margarito, would you consider Williams better than Cotto (unless you do already)?

"Status wise"... Why does status matter?

The Margarito that Cotto is fighting, and by far.

Margarito beat Cintron on ESPN, and then looked awful in his win against Clottey when he won a bad looking decision. Nobody knew who Clottey was either, or really even Cintron then either.

Then he dropped that close fight to Williams.

After Williams he destroyed Golden Johnson on a big PPV Cotto-Mosley undercard. Dont forget Johnson was coming fresh off a knockout win over highly touted prospect Oscar Diaz. Nobody really knew Johnson, but the devastating 1st round KO on that big stage drew attention. Then we had "the new" Kermit Cintron who rebuilt himself with Emmanuel Steward after the first loss and won a world title and gained some more experience, and no hand injury or lay off before the fight. Margarito scored a devastating KO over him on a big HBO card.

Margarito's status right now is way up there. After the Clottey fight his status was real low. And Williams fought him right after Clottey.

also if Cotto beats Margarito its way more impressive to me than Williams beating him. Williams is huge for that weight and he was still pretty much fighting a smaller man in Margarito. Margarito's main advantage over opponents is his size and power and Williams was bigger than him. Cotto is a lot smaller than Williams and Margarito's normal size advantage will be in full affect.

                my thoughts

                  Paul Williams version..obviously.

An unknown 25 year old went in to Margas backyard and beat easily.

the difference is..is that margarito didnt just beat a clottey and a undefeated cintron but he beat him twice.. and when he fought paul williams he didnt lose a blowout fight he loss a close fight...paul williams didnt knock him out.. margarito fought 12 hard rounds against him where paul williams was being duck by many also..so the status of margarito has never dropped..
