Penn tattooed him with the jab throughout, cutting up his face terribly before knocking him back into the cage at the end of the third round and, smelling blood, rushing in with a flying knee that landed directly on the chin and put Sherk out with a vicious flurry on the ground. I think Sherk actually quit, as the round ended and the fight wasn't stopped until a few seconds later. Penn was standing over him saying he was done, it was pretty funny.
The Penn stoppage was awsome. Penn completely went into Fast Motion as soon as he seen the first sign of weakness from the Muscle Shark. He completely exploited his weakness and opened up a major can of whip ass on him with that flying knee and follow up beat down. Great instinct, killer instinct, it was perfect.

      its about EGO!

UFC will put 3 superstars on the same card! no ego on who is the main event...this is why many people are there from start to finish.

In boxing would you ever see a fight like this.

Mainevent Floyd jr vs oscar 2
Co main event: Hatton vs Paulie
Feature: Shane Mosely vs Zab Judah

^if boxing put on PPV cards like this I guarantee you they would make no less then 700,000 ppv buys...a card like that with the right buzz and hype would probably make a cool 1 million buys.

But promoters never make stacked cards like this for PPV...such a shame.

They're able to make such a good undercard because they don't pay their fighters ****. We'll see how much longer they can get away with that. I do admit that tonights show was much better than average.

Correct, the UFC does ridiculously underpay the bulk of their fighters and imposes incredibly limiting restrictions on them in their contracts. This is why a large number of fighters are still largely based in the Japanese MMA scene.

Tonights Show made the hatton card look ultra boring...Imagine watching the UFC card first and then watching the hatton fight after...you would fall asleep.

Considering floyd-oscar 1 did 2.4 million, a card like that would do waaaaaay more then "a cool 1mil"

To be fair, the first two rounds of Penn-Sherk were not what the typical MMA fan can find enjoyment in, very slow-paced technical boxing (mainly on Penn's end, landing the jab at will and countering).

I'd still rather watch boxing everyday of the week. I only watched that show tonight because it didn't cost me anything. I've seen some MMA shows before that were just awful.

True but I am not trying to over push it lol...in reality it would probably do 2.6 to 3 million.
