How was Calzaghe-Kessler not a big fight? I bought the fight on PPV in Australia. 55,000 in attendance and the undisputed super-middleweight title on the line? Kessler was unbeaten at the time. He had - and still has - a very impressive record.

When was the last time that happened in the USA?

When Kessler is back he will dominate that division. Soon, all your Pavliks and Taylors will be calling him out, and he'll give them hell.

What is this? The Ultimate Dumb **** Championship?

Think before you post.... er, sorry I meant fink.

One other thing, this **** about Joe only fighting old ****s: how old was Kessler? An unbeaten 28 year-old, am I not right?

Joe's just played the tried and true game of not fighting the best until he has to. All those years fighting b-graders built him the skills and - most of all - the confidence - to take on the likes of Kessler, Lacy (horrible to watch) and Hopkins and Jones et al.

Compare it with Michael Katsidis - my favourite fighter - being thrown in with Joel Casamayor. Seemed very logical on paper, but the risk was still there. Maybe Joel could turn back the clock. He did. He knocked Michael out. He had the superior skills.

So if Bernard or Roy turn the clock back, they've gotta fast-forward Joe. That ain't gonna happen. Joe has great skill. He beat a prime Kessler, and Kessler is very, very good. Slaps does he? Check out Kessler's face after their bout. Slaps don't do that to a man's face.

Joe and Mikkel will beat anyone at LH and SMW. I know some of you Americans hate that, but it's the truth. One guy who'd have a chance is Jermain Taylor. I thought he beat KP in the rematch. I had it 6-5-1 to Taylor.

That's all I think on the subject.

This guy is what we call delusional. You squeeked by BHop and now your big ****? Come on! Only a few respect your fight game here in the states. In Euro, they will eat anything Warren puts in front of them. I seriously doubt anyone was ducking this clown! BHop had to beg you 2 fight him here! So sit down and enjoy the ride. Legend you will never be! And those that support this guy are not taken seriously on this forum. ***azhe is a fraud!

this is what you call playing it safe & ducking opponents. roy jones fans are crazy to think that a guy who lost his ko power & is far removed from his legend status can outdecision calzaghe in wales. regardless if joe wins they better not make excuses.

pavlik & tarver are the only real challenges to calzaghe

Thats made me laugh so hard, you obviously have no business sense in anyway shape of form.

If the most amount of money and best chance for your fans to see you is where you live, then you should fight where you live. It costs a hell of a lot of money for Brits to fight overseas and when they do they still bring a lot of fans but it gets quite expensive so he's just doing right by his fans instead of trying to impress the Americans who couldn't care less anyway because he is from the other side of the pond.

yea watch out for calzaghe he is a bonafide bad-ass. he spars with flyweights and thinks its funny to impersonate a windmill and simulate **** during a fight. god knows he couldn't land a punch to save his life so he had to do something.

What I think will happen is that he will beat Roy Jones but be no more commital than he is now, he will say something like "I'll probably retire now, but you never know if the money is right".

A few months later I think he'll fight Pavlik. The timing is all wrong now, Pavlik has just made his name at MW and its not quite time to move up, another impressive win or two and that could change. Likewise a the clamour for a Joe who beat Hopkins and Jones to fight the USA's now proven young champ will be very much greater. UK posters will remember that the Lacy fight was billed as Joe's "career defining fight, at last" and I think we'll see a similar billing for Calzaghe-Pavlik, only this time it will be his career defining fight in the eyes of the USA. Hopefully we'll see a similar result, though surely less one sided. Now that really would be the way for Joe to end his career.
Wow I actually agree with the majority of what one of the biggest JC homers on this board wrote. Tried to Green K you but I couldn't. Anyone can say "retirement" until they get a dollar amount they simply can't refuse. Anyone, including JC, will fight for the right price.

Just to repost what you wrote for telling it exactly how it is. Non-American just can't take the blinders off when it comes to this guy. He is a B plus fighter at best, and only a legend in their mind.

I think the huge payday that a U.S. audience/fight generates just might offset the cost of living in the U.S. for a month. But what do I know, I have no business sense.
