Have you seen what the JWW's weigh on fight night? They outweigh FMJ in the ring.

        On. Fight. Night.

Hatton is ~154 in the ring on fight night. Floyd is the same or slightly less than his weigh-in weights. 146 - 148.

Here are the in-ring weights of some recent bouts:

Corrales (148) vs castillo (149) in a lightweight bout

        Hatton 158 vs Collazo.

Hatton @ 152-154 for nearly every other fight.

Bojado vs Forbes....both fighters at 150+

RICKY HATTON: No, I don’t think so. I mean as I’ve said on a couple of occasions, when I fought Luis Collazo at welterweight last time. And normally when I weight 140, you know, I normally get in the ring about the 152 amount (ph), you know, the following night, you know, when, from the weigh in to the, to when I step in the ring. And against Luis Collazo I think I come in about 158, 159. I tried to make me self as big as him if you like when really I wasn’t. And so I think I’m going to come in on the night, the weight that I perform best at in the ring, and that will be, you know, the 152 amount. And Floyd was underweight six weeks ago when I met him really, so, you know, he’ll be pretty much the same and I will have grown, if not grown, sallied up, you know, so I don’t think Floyd is the biggest. I’ve beat some very big men, you know, but, you know, sometimes people have just go the stance to do it, and I think, one thing that I think Floyd hasn’t bargained on is how clever I am. You know, there’s a method to my madness, and I think that’s going to be the key really. He’s just bet for me to go in there all guns blazing with no real thought to what I’m doing, but there is a lot of thought to what I do, and he’s put, just got to put it in sort (ph) of …

I'm watching Mayweather-Corrales (yes I know it's at 130, not 135) and Floyd looks just absolutely fantastic. Seriously, he looks almost perfect. Great jab, excellent combinations, fantastic elusivity, he had it all.

Although he struggled with Castillo at 135, he did well in his other two fights. I wish he would have stayed down there and fought Casamayor, Freitas, Lazcano, etc.

There would be no talk about ducking whoever I don't think. I think Floyd has a right to not want to fight Cotto, probably because Cotto is a giant next to him, but Floyd really has put himself in that boat by entering into 147. If you are going to claim the lineal championship in a division, you are going to be expected to fight the best in that division.

135 didn't even really fall off when most of the good fighters previously mentioned left. We now have Nate Campbell, Juan Diaz, Julio Diaz, Kid Diamond, etc.

I don't know, what do you all think about this? How cool would it have been if Floyd had stayed at 130 until the Chavez fight (when he said he couldn't make that limit anymore), and then never have left 135?

You don't think any of that had to do with him trying to bulk up so he could fight at 147/154? I said he should have stayed at 135. Not that he should move back down.

You can't honestly tell me that you think Floyd grew from a 130 pounder to a legitimate 147 pounder in just 7 fights, can you?

            what a dumb thread
Looks like you got your "I'm a prick" statement in for the day. Kudos.

Anyway, thanks for reading the original post, because so much of it is about him moving back down to 135...

It's a crime Casamayor never fought Mayweather. Even Johnston would have made for a very interesting fight. Mosley is another one.

You can't deny that he had a few more fights though...

He had some damn good challengers at 135 too, certainly better than the fighters he fought at 140.

Casamayor, Freitas, Lazcano (yeah he actually was a credible threat at 135)...

It works out well for Floyd that Castillo ended up on top of the foursome that included him, Corrales, Freitas and Casamayor though.

good thread.. i think if he would of stayed at 135, he would probably beat everyone that came in his path.. casa-may would of been a really good fight.. i think alot people forget he was an absolute beast at the lower weight divisions.. the lightweight divisions are his natural weight classes and of course he had to change his style and adjust to fighting much bigger fighters at these higher weight classes..
