I don't agree with Johnson being the toughest fight at there. IMO it has to be someone unbeaten like Pavlik, if Calzaghe can beat such a promising young champion surely he's done enough.Comment

I know your you're pretty much impaled inside RRJ's ass, but trust me, that is a fact.

Not that long ago I picked Dawson as the single opponent I would like Calzaghe to face, he looked good to me and I genuinely felt he would go on to be the future of the LHW division. After his recent lacklustre performance, I'm not so sure, but he remains undefeated, and there are hardly a whole load of boxers out there who are going to beat him over the next few years, so he remains as good a candidate as any to wind up as a US "great" in a few years time. He's a good fighter.
That said, Barracuda, it is pretty unlikely he beats Calzaghe at this stage. You say that Calzaghe can't take Dawson's power, but i would say that both Mikkel Kessler and a functioning Lacy hit harder than Chad, and Calzaghe had no qualms about getting in with them. Indeed Calzaghe was able to walk straight through Kessler's best shots to beat him. I also remind you that Joe has an absolutely fantastic chin, and has never been close to being KOd in his career. Down sure, but KO'd no way.
I have no doubt that Dawson would give Calzaghe a good fight, but in reality, it wouldn't even be as close as Calzaghe - Hopkins. Chad does not have the game to cope with Calzaghe's unorthodox style, and his own would play into calzaghe's hands. Joe likes to let his opponent try and beat him and then demonstrate that he simply can't, by making his opponent look ordinary as they struggle to deal with Joe's usually superior aggression, punches from all angles, and of course his famous workrate. Joe couldn't do this against Hopkins, because Hopkins clinched him all night long, but against Dawson he would be able too, and Joe would get the win.
Give it two or three years, and probably Dawson might beat Calzaghe, who is beginning to get old. It's just not quite time yet, but I'm sure Dawson will still have a great career.

Sometimes I wonder if they're talking about the same Joe Calzhage..
It's like the twilight zone around here when it comes to that guy..
They must be really hard-up for heroes across the Atlantic..Comment
