I don't think there's any one person he has to beat to impress Americans... He's got to beat them all: Tarver, Johnson, Dawson, and even Chris Byrd. Also it'd be nice if he could beat Hopkins convincingly and beyond any reasonable doubt in a rematch.

Which is another way of saying he'll never impress them I guess. If he lined up Pavlik, Dawson, Tarver and RJJ and fought them all in the next two years I think he could pull it off, but it would be pretty risky as he'd be getting very old.

Also there would always be someone else they'd want him to fight, a resurgent Jermaine Taylor, a rematch with Kessler even. That's why its so hard for boxers to quit and retire undefeated. Always one more fight.

If he can't get respected by US fans then he can't get respected. He should take two more fights max. Preferably one. Any of the group of four US fighters would make me happy.

Currently now, at this time, nobody can beat Calzaghe out there. That's a fact. Europe or US, not even Pavlik. Calzaghe is a bad fight for Pavlik because of Pavliks style.
