    1. No Personality
    2. Cant really Speak English
    3. His Style is Not really TV friendly
    4. He brings no drama
    5. And he is basically living off of Floyd Name, because everytime you mention cotto they talk about "THAT'S mayweather next Opponent"
and that is basically his appeal...

Cotto is going in the right the direction, but he isn't quite there yet...
is # 3 regarding Cotto or Floyd?

He fought at the same time as Tarver vs Wood. I bet if you put a poll up on who watched what, it will be 50 to 1 that watched Cotto instead of Tarver. No one cares about Tarver or Woods. So if Tarver fought at the same time as Floyd, by what you are saying, is that Floyd would only have half of the viewers he normally has because Tarver is such a beast with the ratings. I dont think so.

What the **** are you talking about? two factors here, first your assuming that Mayweather Jr does better in numbers only compairing Floyds big fights to Cotto vs Gomez or Cotto vs Paulie, Floyds ticket sales did not start to improve until he fought Gatti that is a fact.

and everybody there for the Gatti fight was there for Gatti and not for Mayweather Jr, that is a fact. the Judah fight was evenly split half Judah fans half Mayweather Jr fans, the DLH fight was all DLH fans in the arena so in terms of Ticket sales in big fights, Floyds fans do not really come out and see the fight up close they pay the PPV fee to watch him.

Cotto sells tickets there is a big difference when tickets are sold the cheapest tickets run about the same ammount as PPV tickets do, However take a look at Floyds fights vs lesser names nobody is there the arena is empty usally they give away tickets to those fights.

Look at Cotto vs Gomez sure the ratings didnt do well because of two factors here, A: Showtime had a double header the same night the same time, and B: it was ****ing Gomez, however The Arena was still packed even though Cotto was fighting Gomez when is the last time Floyd fought a bum and filled the seats? Not once and he will always need guys like DLH Hatton or even Judah or Gatti in order to sell out arenas and PPVs that is a ****ing fact.

Thats because he only fights in or around New York with all the PRs there. Bring him to Texas, he wouldn't sell out ****. Maybe the MArgs fight but that would be for Margs. Take him to LA, he wouldn't sell out ****. Keep him in NY, thats the only place he will ever sell out, unless its with Margs or Floyd.

Cotto is not especially attractive to the eye of laymen and casual fans. I've seen it firsthand. Someone I met at a Hooters referred to him as "..lumbering and dopey.." - and this was recently. Funny enough, that pissed me off. I find any of these things an attack on Boxing..

Cotto has strong buzz in the sport but that translates into squat for some reason with people beyond who take a look. His fans are a loud and proud group of folks. You would think Cotto is the biggest attraction in the sport by looking at material on youtube. It's surprising that his TV numbers were this poor even with nationally known Alfonso Gomez in the role of underdog.

So Floyd can take his act else where and fight, look stop making excuses bottom line is Floyds fans do not pay to see him fight upclose Cotto fans do.

His last outing against Alfonso Gomez in Atlantic City did one of the lowest ratings ever (2.1) for an HBO World Championship Boxing telecast. Perhaps Arum believes it's time for Cotto to expand his horizons (and his fanbase), and that fighting on the west coast will attract more Mexican-American fans, while increasing the pressure on one Floyd Mayweather to face Cotto, should be beat

Because he fights in NY, the PR capital of the US of A. Anywhere else he doesnt sell out. period. If Floyd fought on the same night as Tarver, Floyd would get 19 out of every 20 viewers. Cotto can't. He is a LOCAL fighter. If he doesnt fight in NY or around NY he wont sell ****.
