Unbelievable that some of you are using the excuse of Tarver, Woods, Johnson, and Dawson fighting on HBO as the reason people didn't tune in to fight Cotto. Really? I mean Cotto may be an unknown, but Tarver, Woods, Johnson, and Dawson are absolutely nobody in the world of mainstream.

If you judge greatness by how many great fighters you lost too, then yeah Oscar is the greatest...of this generation...

But you only become great when you beat great fighters period...
and that's what Oscar is and was trying to do, but he has hardly ever done..

The point is that Bob Arum took Risk With Floyd...
he doesnt take risk with Cotto....

I was going to say the exact thing...Who is the draw out of Woods, Johnson, Dawson and Tarver that made Cotto do crap ratings?

There is a reason that Gatti, Baldomir, Zab, ODLH, and others made their biggest pay days against Floyd, because he is THE attraction of the sport. Cotto is the attraction of NY and surrounding areas.

Did Floyd fans fill the seats for the De La Hoya fight? No it was DLH Fans,
How about for Gatti? No it was Gatti fans
How about for Baldimor? those who did show up left early some attraction he is huh?
Floyd got his biggest payday fighting guys who had fans that were willing to pay to see not becuase they were there to see Floyd get it ****ing straight moron.

                  Genaro Hernandez
                  Angel Manfredy
                  Diego Corrales
                  Carlos Hernandez
                  Jesus Chavez
                  Jose Luis Castillo
Hernandez was the top fighter of the division no doubt. And no doubt he was on the way out.

Manfredy, top contender who beat Gatti. After then sadly never beat a champion and even got a gift against Julio Diaz.

Corrales, he was going to jail, wasn't in shape mentally or physiclly. He ate 3 pieces of sanch before he went into the right!

C.Hernandez, a fighter "Chicanoito" Hernandez had already defeated. A tough contender, toughter then Manfredy.

J.Chavez, a top contender that wasnt' supposed give Floyd problems.

Castillo, a champion that was supposed to sell his title to Mayweather but instead gave him two hell of fights. One in which he won.

Most of these names only look good cause of what they did AFTER, mayweather not BEFORE.

If floyd had the balls, and was as great as you like to say. He would have finished off Margarito a long time ago and already have been set to go against Cotto.

Problem is Mayweather and his fans like to talk how great Mayweather is, but like Roy, Maywetaher doesn't like to prove his worth against fighters the public wants him to fight.

Floyd is one of the most protected fighters in many years!

And yeah, 340,000 buys for a PPV is not lukewarm, unless your ODH/Mayweather.

I guarantee though if you put Cotto and Mayweather in the ring together, it will sell GREAT.

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I believe that the ratings for Calzaghe-Kessler were worse.

Well your posts are a lot easier to read now so good job, but I have two problems.

                      1. Roy Jones opposition in 1994-2002 is not WTF. It's definietly better then Mayweather at 140 and his last two fights at 135.

                      2. 36 Shane Mosley was STILL very good. He was equally as good as De La Hoya if maybe not better.
