Tarver can box, unlike Calzaghe. Tarver throws straight punches with power, unlike Calzaghe. Tarver has fought way better opposition, Tarver has just as good a chin and stamina.

It's also a styles thing.

Defense and countering are all Antonio. Calzaghe, to be effective, throws alot of punches. It got him the win against Hopkins. But Tarver will allow Joe to throw more but Calzaghe will get caught with alot more cleaner, harder shots coming back in the process.

Tarver is tall, moves his hand with power, and has good timing. It's just a bad fight for Calzaghe.

And to answer your question, no. I knew Hopkins wouldn't be busy enough to beat Joe. I did think it could turn out to be a draw but Hop showed me in the Taylor fight that he couldn't fight hard for 12 rounds.

Okay in response to Tarver, you have one alphabet strap and Joe Calzaghe is the champion, your just a titlist. Tarver used to be the champion, then Hopkins beat him and Calzaghe beat Hopkins. For anyone to be the champion in this divsion they now have to go through Joe Calzaghe

If Joe C is going to continue to fight at light-heavy, he will really impress me if he takes on Glen Johnson. If he takes on Tarver or Jones he'll beat them in an ugly fight and generate more money but if he fights a bad-ass like Johnson so late in his career, he'll be making a big statement.
