Tarvers defense and STRAIGHT punches will be the difference.
Antonio can really sit down on his shots and believe me it would hurt Joe badly.

Add to the fact that Calzaghe's punching power wouldn't bother Tarver and it's going to be a long night.

Joe has the edge in foot speed but in the end his flurries will be countered by Tarver much more efficiently than Hopkins was able to do.

      Tarver TKO Calzaghe 11

Why? I cannot think of one thing besides hitting harder that he does better. Support your claim.

Calzaghe wont even look at Tarver, that fight makes no sense when Pavlik is the fight we all wanna see.

Anybody saying RJJ, a washed up has been who Tarver retired and has since fought another washed up has been and two nobodies, is a better fight than Tarver, is a Calzaghe fan not wanting to see their fighter lose.

Tarver is FAR superior to RJJ now, and would probably beat the **** out of Calzaghe if they fought next.
I said I'm not sure Tarver would beat RJJ now, and how can you be sure? You can't. I think RJJ has learnt a lot, has toned down his risk taking the ring and improved his defence. Meanwhile has not given signs he's improved, quite the contrary.

Woods literally didn't even show up, he was a punch bag. Tarver did not demonstrate he has the skills to beat somone of Calzaghe's calibre. He rants outside the ring, but seems to have really lost any burning desire inside the ring, and with it some of his skills. RJJ or Calzaghe would have capitalised and pounded Woods, and Tarver wouldn't or couldn't.

Argue as much as you like, there's a lot of valid points for saying Tarver would beat RJJ again now, I don't believe it, he's declined, and RJJ and Calzaghe have anything grown into much much wiser fighters to be trapped into one of his big punches, which he couldn't even manage on Woods. How would he hurt a much quicker minimal B+ opponent, quicker like Calzaghe, or RJJ for that matter?

He's all talk and that's why the media, sites, people of fighters aren't really talking about him.

No one says a great close matchup would be Tarver Calzaghe. I think Joe would whip him. RJJ would give both a clever tough fight, with his speed, ring intelligence, adaptable style attributes alone now.

                      Tarver over Calzaghe
Did you also think that about Hopkins?
