I have never understood the Roy is the greatest LHW of all time argument either.

One resume hes not but talent wise hes in a final eliminator with Bob Foster.

Throw in Michael spinks. We can have a roy vs foster vs spinks tournament.

I'm not sure if he was good enough to be mentioned with the rest, but wasn't Michael Moorer pretty fearsome at LHW?

Roy had a good run at 175. My biggest problem with him is his total lack effort (with some mutual guilt) to unify against Michalczewski and his outright shameful ducking of Michael Nunn. You won't find a list of any lightheavyweights who Bob Foster ducked.

Precisely. Trinidad took to Middleweight like a fish to water and was expected to steam roll the tournament by every major boxing writer in the Country. It wasn't until he ran into a brick wall named Hopkins that people began this whole "blown up" bull****.

Oscar is a slightly different story, and was blown up a bit I admit. But as you say, it's still a damn good win.

I didn't say he always fought great comp at 175, just that he was a dominant champ at 175. Anotha poster mentioned the same **** about Hopkins and Calzaghe. These guys didn't beat a ton of superstar names over their long title reigns, but even against average fighters you can't have a years long run on top like that without doin sumthin right. Jones was the man at light heavyweight for a long time but he got old and lost his juggernautic rep by the time it was over.

Agree Spinks was a beast at lightheavy but like Jones when he ruled the division was shallow.

Id pick Foster due to his size and power over Spinks and Jones but i do favour older fighter i think we all do.

Rumor has it DM was at the Roy vs Hill fight to setup a fight with him and then once he saw Roy's destruction of hill, DM wanted no part of it.

                    Is it DM's fault too?

Not knocking Hopkins or you post but he had one fight at 160lbs prior to Hopkins so you cannot logically come to that conclusion.
