I think it was the Judah fight that he first unleashed his left jab! Cotto is improving every time out...timing, jab, defense... In my book he's already a complete fighter & would give any one problems!
WTF?? So when did Miguel Cotto become a Boxer rather than a Brawler???

do NOT say running shalifi - bro - abre tus ojos - cotto boxed gomez, he didn't run, and look at the good fight he afforded his fans.Well if what all you are saying is true, I wanna see the same Miguel Cotto that destroyed and bullied the smaller opponents throughout most of his career and go toe-to-toe against a bigger opponent in Tony providing the kind of fight all pure boxing fans want, instead of running his way to a UD victory as most of you claim he will be doing...
you're better than this

Tony would have gotten Gomez out of there in 1 round. Yes.which i don't understand why he took so long to finish gomez,
i really don't get it he knows he is hurt just finish him off and knock him out,
that's why cotto was asked on the post presser if he was making fun of gomez, he would of gotten more credit if he would of KO gomez on round 1,
i know margarito will

Well you're going to be seeing a lot of lateral movement and jabbing. That's just how it's going to be because it's his best chance at victory.Well if what all you are saying is true, I wanna see the same Miguel Cotto that destroyed and bullied the smaller opponents throughout most of his career and go toe-to-toe against a bigger opponent in Tony providing the kind of fight all pure boxing fans want, instead of running his way to a UD victory as most of you claim he will be doing...
Marg can be held off with a stiff jab and movement. Of course Cotto isn't good enough to stay out of danger all fight so there will be plenty of exchanges for your entertainment.Comment

Yeah I think you are going insane. I have followed Cotto's career since the amateurs and that man has always had skills for boxing. That's why the peeps in P.R. never compared him to Tito because Tito dismantles careers and Cotto outclassed people when fighting them. They are completely two different fighters. Not sure how long you have been watching Cotto but he's always showed his excellence since the beginning of his career. See if you can dig up the old fights. I believe his defensive skill decreased as he progressed into the power hitter he is today but if you look when he first started he was a guy that had excellent defense and head movement and didn't take many shots. Now it seems like he's willing to take a shot to give a shot. His boxing ability was just recently more polished in the Mosley fight because the threat that Mosley posed. Cotto was never a brawler because to me brawler's are not as precise as Cotto is with his punches. Brawlers are more like Ricardo Mayorga, Vic Darchinyan who possess incredible power but lack in the skill department. In reality I believe Cotto is more accurately catagorized as a boxer/puncher.great posts.. good k!The funny thing about this is, Cotto's always been a boxer-puncher. Since day one. People just simply havent been watching him, or just started.
All the "nuthuggers" knew this going into the Mosley fight.
Remember when we said Cotto would outbox Shane with the jab, and got laughed at?

Bro I don't think he's going to run and have a boring decision...that's not Cotto's style. He is going to systematically break down Margarito and if he can knock him out then he will do so and if not then he will be winning the rounds to win the fight. I personally see the fight going the distance because Margarito is such a tough SOB and therefore it would be assinine for Cotto to look for only the KO and not have a couple of back up plans just in case things don't go the way they are supposed to go.Well if what all you are saying is true, I wanna see the same Miguel Cotto that destroyed and bullied the smaller opponents throughout most of his career and go toe-to-toe against a bigger opponent in Tony providing the kind of fight all pure boxing fans want, instead of running his way to a UD victory as most of you claim he will be doing...Comment

Yeah Cotto definitely has the capacity to do that.
Can he do that the entire fight? or will he (as usual) add drama to the fight by making an error, or getting caught, or other?
Tony will throw for a fact, over 1000 punches and you and I know..........that despite Miguelito's power and crispy punches, he's not going to hurt him.
