WTF?? So when did Miguel Cotto become a Boxer rather than a Brawler???

Like most of us you're seeing Cotto evolve into an all round great fighter. Just when everyone thinks they've got Cotto's game down he starts doin some next ****.This **** is getting ridiculous!!! some of the people in these forums are the biggest hypocrites and have gotten their heads so far up their asses they can't smell or see the truth. So now after the lopsided beating of Alfonso Gomez, Cotto is now the reincarnation of Sugar Ray Robinson... some people are demented and delusional enough to think that this new "improved" Cotto can run around circles and box Floyd Mayweather into an UD... I mean Jesus ****ing Christ!!! can people be more ****ing un-biased please???
I love Miguel Cotto, I've said it a million times, he's a great fighter and in my top 5 list of current fighters, yes he has improved a lot in his last 3 fights but to now call him a technical boxer after what we saw against Gomez and deny the fact that he really is more of a straight-up brawler with skills is asinine!! the guy has made a name for himself by beating people up, a bully, and now a lot of you guys are saying that he would beat Tony Margarito by boxing him to a UD...when 2 months ago the same people were saying he was just a flat footed hard puncher and had no chance against a guy like Mayweather...I must be going insane.
BTW...you in Miami??? I'm in the 954Comment

If the fight goes 12 rounds, Miguel Cotto wins by default.
It's clear as day that he is in fact going to use his superior boxing skills (Except counterpunching on the inside) to out point Tony.
He has 12 rounds to survive and win a decision in my opinion. It would be the ultimate deciding factor in me believing Cotto's skill and tenacity combo.
Simply because now, he's facing someone who will be dangerous in every round for 12 rounds............I can't wait.

I love Cotto but he didn't win any medal in the Olympics. He lost in the first round against Mohamad Abdulaev...who in turn won the gold medal in the Olympics. But hey Miguel brutalized him in the pros.Comment

Well if what all you are saying is true, I wanna see the same Miguel Cotto that destroyed and bullied the smaller opponents throughout most of his career and go toe-to-toe against a bigger opponent in Tony providing the kind of fight all pure boxing fans want, instead of running his way to a UD victory as most of you claim he will be doing...
****ing genius you know the ****ing deal thats the only way margo can win a fight.you bitches are incredible now he was bigger than all his former opponents get it right ****a this is boxing he wins the best way he can don't start lobbying your ****ing excuses you now the deal.Comment

Cotto has always been a boxer/puncher. Just because he comes foward and applies constant pressure doesn't make him a brawler. He just use different tactics for different opponents. He can box wen he needs to.
He as underrated defence that he used a lot during the begining of his carrer and e was critized for sometimes being to careful. As his career matured he has became more of a puncher and he began just destroying his opponets. The thing is Cotto has the ability to brawl or box and he can hut you either way. Margarito only knows how to come foward but Cotto can fight coming fowards or steeping back. And he will chose which one serves him better against Margarito and the outcome will be the same Cotto TKO 11Margarito.Comment

That was a my bad. I was thinking of his loss to Abdulaev the gold medalist. I forgot which round it was in. Either way, he boxed beautifully.Comment

Papa, I never said Cotto ran from Gomez, how would he run away from a dude he clearly could beat with both hands tied behind his back? lol. He showed me tremendous speed and power against Gomez, he "boxed" beautifully but to all of the sudden credit him for being this masterful boxer when a few months ago most people acknowledged the fact that he was a bully, power punching brawler is crazy. I give mad props to Cotto for stepping up his game, but he showed it against weak competition in Gomez. I guess I haven't been following Cotto as long as some of you guys in here, but he always struck me as the guy who barely backed down from a fight. I really hope this fight turns out to be what all the fans want, a combination of technique, brawl, KO's, and all out war and let the best man win. However I'm sticking to my guns and I'll be cheering for my boy Tony all the way.
P.S. The name is Shalafi, not shalifi cabron
