A boring fight would help Cotto, the more exciting the fight is, the more it favors Margarito IMO.

He is, but there's only so many times you can play a certain card. Besides, Margarito ain't gonna stop punching if he catches a hot one to his testicular. He'll probably sport a woody as he's beating Cotto down.

cotto is a smart fighter. hes not gonna brawl with him. hes just got to keep margo turning and hit him with combos. marg has an iron chin but iv seen him hurt to the body before. i wouldnt be suprised if he gets ko'd.

I don't even think a punch to the lower region would stop Marg, his testicals are probably made of steel. So Cotto is ****ed.

Yeah, I think cotto's best bet is to just try and out box margs and back him up. He probably won't have much trouble getting on the inside and fighting there either, judging by all the wide shots margs threw the other night I think if cotto can catch him with a flush hook on the inside he'd be able to put him down. He would also have to try and match marg's workrate which is going to be very difficult or elase he'd have to spend alot of the fight on the offense. IMO cotto's boxing skill has also become more apparent since the Mosley fight, although Gomez was no match for him the other night, I feel like he was boxing more than he was during the Mosley fight.

In all seriousness though, Cotto's Achilles' heel is slick,fast boxers. 2 words I wouldnt use to describe Antonio Margarito. So to win, El 7 Mares has, has to, depend on his power and his workrate. Cotto I feel has more options, he can turn margarito, keep marg off his rhythm with his jab, and shoot combinations, Marg proved he can be dangerous to the body as well, but Cotto does it with more consistency.

And I mean, Margarito dosent have 1 punch KO power, not really, so cottos only real problem will be figuring out a way to neutralize Margarito's workrate.


The one thing that can really kill cotto if hes gotten a big head and comes in acting ****y.
