Bernard Hopkins is one of the headiest and cerebral boxers to come around in the history of the sport.

Is he dirty? Yes. But he gets away with it while other fighters cannot.

Because they fight nothing alike, you seriously basing it on that?

the fact that no one in many many years have been able to beat bhop by a wide margin? B-hop is just one of those fighters who you dont clearly beat, and expecting cal to be able to do it is dumb. I have said it many times on this site, the way joe will win (if he wins) will be do to work rate. Joe has looked good againts guys who stay infron of him (manfredo, lacy and kessler) b-hop does not stay in front of you like his other opp. so cal wont be able to get one sided rounds like in his other fights. so yeah if a young fast stronger fighter couldnt beat him by high margins, why would an older faster weaker fighter be able to do it?

You're right no one has done it, but still, what you are saying is wrong. You're saying Taylor didn't do it, so Calzaghe won't do it, which is complete BS since Taylor fights nothing like Calzaghe, sure he was younger, and? They still fight nothing alike.

              Who determines prime?

I'm willing to give Hopkins credit where it's due, he's surprising people becuase he's winning tough fights later in his career, against younger guys. His experience from his age, suites his defensive style, so it's easy to argue his prime is in his later years, where many of his big accomplishments have been.

I don't like all this age excuse crap. I believe Calzaghe has lot some speed and boost in the past few years. He often fought at the level needed a few years ago, but he always had the talent to rise, and he would've to Bernard. Even if Bernards prime was 3 years ago, it's pretty similar.

I think both of there primes have passed by similar amounts. It's just easy to make out otherwise with Joes percieved easier fights, and disbelieving a fighter at 43 can be so effective.

I don't blame Kayjay for giving you K, or whatever he did. It does sound as if you're saying you won't give credit to Joe unless he destroys Hopkins, which is something we all know won't happen because Hopkins is an elusive defensive fighter with a solid chin. In his prime he was alot more attacking and this would have suited JC more, he likes people that want to trade with him. So to say if Calzaghe doesn't beat him convincingly we know he wouldn't beat him in his prime is wrong, it's not that simple.

i used taylor because it was his last L. Cal him self is not a young man, boxers, punchers, and bigger guys have all tryed to beat hopkins, the ones who have done it, did it by a small margin. Cal is a good boxer with great speed, and againts guys like manfredo kessler and lacy he looked very good, but they stay infront of him, but bika was a bit more aquared and he didnt look as good as he had againts the other guys. Hopkins is the king of makeing things aquared. im not sure who will win but im 85% sure it will be a SD victory

With respect, you don't seem to be taking in what people are saying dude.

You have an obsession with age as a major and almost, only factor.

Bigger guys like who? The only one that I think could be bigger than Calzaghe is Tarver. Basically all of B-Hop's matches have been at MW except the last couple of fights. I think Calzaghe will do very well at 175 and B-Hop will have a problem with that.
