did he fight them? did he beat them?
and if your going to use that logic, who has Cal beaten? besided eubank.
kessler and lacy were name fighters but you can really cant say thats enough to say he is better then hopkins.

So, what I'm saying is in order for Calzaghe to really get credit for this victory he better beat him convincingly.. ie not a bunch of close rounds that could have gone either way. If B-Hop manages to make it close, then a few years ago when he was not an old man he most likely would have won the fight. For the record, I expect Calzaghe to win this fight.. Any thoughts on this?
Don't believe the hype. Hopkins is going to win this fight clearly.

Because Hop is so old now, and b/c one would have to assume if the fight is close now with a 40+ Hop, then Hop would likely win if he were still in his prime. This fight will be a complete waste however, if Hop goes in there and actually fights like a senior citizen.
What will you think of Calzaghe when the impossible happens and he loses?

You were saying B-Hop has fought and beaten bigger guys than himself, using it to back up your statement. They were BUMS... If you're seriously gonna compare those guys to Calzaghe then there's no point in arguing.

Antwon Echols and Robert Allen were not bums. Especially Antwon Echols.

Agreed, missed Echols in his list, I said Allen was the only decent guy in that list, the other fighters were garbage though, and even Allen and Ant don't compare to Calzaghe.

Well in my opinion the topic starter is just correct.

Calzaghe would have to really beat Hopkins good in order to convince one that he would have done so in Hopkins prime as well. That would be clear..............yes.

B-Hop is gonna win a close fight. I hope he hangs em up afterwards though. He has nothing left to accomplish.
