To me it seems like he is not letting it get to him anymore. At Espn FNF the other day he said "people are telling me to fight this guy and that guy, I'm telling them, I'll fight on my terms when I feel like it".

    It's an rebelious attitude.[/SIZE]
Maybe... it's not a good one to have though regarding Cotto, because that really is a fight that he needs to win before he retires. While people criticize him for not fighting the best at 135, avoiding Casamayor, Freitas and Lazcano, those dudes all lost to either Castillo or Corrales which he beat. I don't think that Baldomir, Judah, Hatton, Mitchell or Oscar is going to be able to bail Mayweather out by beating Cotto. Cotto really is that one, singular guy that is viewed as a challenge to the throne of Floyd Mayweather Jr. If he beats him, he retires and I, nor any other serious boxing fan, would say a ****ing thing about ducking anyone.

I believe you. I'm not so sure about the rest of the majority.

It looks like a career defining, legacy enhancing fight right now but I'm not so sure it would if Floyd were to beat him.

Most of these people are so caught up in Floyd ducking Cotto and being scared of him that they're not even considering this.

You want to know what I think is a joke about people who ***** about ducking? People who ***** about Floyd ducking someone like Juan Lazcano... I mean, seriously, would anyone consider Lazcano a great win for him right now if he had beaten him? Who the **** is Juan Lazcano right now in the world of boxing?

Cotto has already proven himself by beating Sugar Shane though. I think if Cotto lost, it would be close to Kessler losing to Calzaghe. A GREAT fighter losing to an ATG, and nothing bad can be said about the great fighter other than he ran into a ATG.

I agree with this. The scenerio is almost the same. An up and coming undefeated fighter/champion vs a older more established fighter. That's what Calzaghe - Kessler was.

However we're entering new territory here. First, I don't think that Kessler can be considered great yet although he could be in the future depending on what he does from here on out. And second, I don't think that Calzaghe is A all-time great. He is definitely a great fighter but not an all-time great. Beating Berard Hopkins could change that though.

For me at least. Some won't even give it to him if he beats Hopkins.

I respect the **** outta Floyd as it is but i agree with everybodyb that says he needs to clean up his division. You might think he don't need to cuz he's got the Ring belt and everyone else at 147 is a challenger to his throne but there are too many fights out there for him that he's passin up. He's in his athletic prime at a time when his division is stacked with names and if he took em on and beat em one after another no doubt he'd go down as a legend in boxing. He's good enough to beat everyone in the WW top 10 but some of em he wouldn't beat easily, so he ain't interested in doin it.

make the fights happen that not only the casual fans want to see (all about money and big names and dismissing level of competition as a factor) and to be more of a people's champ rather than a ****y, (sometimes delierious), rude type of personality.

he can still trash talk...but be either funnier about it or not as much of a prick.

he's still a great fighter and i admire his skill and ability...

I don't even think he needs to clean up the division.

The other two titlists besides himself and Cotto are:

Quintana (WBO) - Who was beaten in a more than convincing fashion by Cotto.

                AND

Cintron (IBF) - Who won the title that Floyd Mayweahter Jr. vacated.

I think Cotto is the key and that is it.

If he fights Cotto and retires then fair enough, but if he stays active then he should clean up rather than having a Hatton rematch or anything like that.

If he actually stepped up and fought someone lol, that Zab fight really shook up Floyd. Floyd is shook, Zab landed some hard heavy shots early, you can tell Floyd doesn't want it with a young swift quick handed fighter, cause Floyd can be touched by those guys.

But instead of goin out strong in his prime, he's protecting his goose egg like a mother bird. lol Floyd's a bird..
