I don't think 'exposure' had anything to do with with 30,000 Hatton fans traveling half way round the world to see that fight? He bought good numbers over for the Urango, Castillo and the Collazo fight (spelling?)

Hatton's fanbase is what makes him the bigger draw and it's bigger then Cotto's IMO.

Thanks for not dodging the bullet and answering the question.

A few posters on here said that. It's Hatton who has the contract for the UK PPV correct?

I think the traveling has more to do with being loyal than anything.

If what has been said is true (don't quote me on it!), Hatton made more money from his cut from the UK PPVs then he did for fighting Mayweather.

Omg. This **** makes me laugh.

Hatton is going to have 55k at his next fight against a nobody. Point proven.

30,000 People fought tickets from UK to Travel to USA just to watch Ricky Hatton fight, His fight with Mayweather did 1 million in UK ALONE, 800K in USA, Mayweather was not known in UK before the Hatton fight to casual fans, His fight vs zoo did well too, Cotto's highest PPV was against a Superstar in Mosley which did less than Mayweather vs Baldomir.

Hatton has a lot of support in UK, only 5000 fans could actually be in the crowd of the Mayweather fight but 25,000 went there to Vegas to watch him in bars, near big tv screens, etc. A lot of them came to weigh in as well.
If I could have picked both 1 and 3, I would have but whatever. Definitely Ricky Hatton though, no doubt. A Common Wealth of the United States vs. an Empire....do the math.

No. 3 is getting the same amount of votes as No. 2

                  Notice the irony?

You have got to be kidding dont you , Hatton was the media darling of british boxing he has had more media exposure than any UK fighter in history ,,,, the people that came over were mostly soccer fans on the bandwagon , thats why they booed the anthem , boxing fans dont do that .

As far as who is the bigger draw , its about where , in the US Cotto in the UK its Hatton , PPVs excluding Floyd , Cotto has bigger numbers than Hatton ,,,,, in Australia Fenech was pulling 40,000 for the same reasons Hatton does at home ,,, media attention , pleasing style to the layman and likable character ,,, all adds up to marketing adds up to man in the street fan that dont normally follow boxing .

Wasn't the fight with Floyd Hatton's first PPV in USA? He has been on PPV before but that was in UK, The Collazo and Urango fights were on regular HBO. So was the Castillo one I think?
