Perhaps heart was a bad choice of words. As I noted, taken in the sense of confidence, I think that after the Campbell rally Diaz lost any belief that he could win the fight, or at least the remaining rounds (perhaps he hoped he had already done enough). Again, inexperience. It will be interesting to see how this loss affects him.

And you can contribute some of Diaz's faultering to the body shots, but i think the vast majority of it was his complete lack of pacing. The guy just ran out there and threw punch after punch... you HAVE to pace yourself or u wotn last
Katsidis isn't that big a puncher and I don't regard him as high as I did Juan Diaz. On top of that, Katsidis is a guy with paper tissue skin who went to hell and back with Graham Earl. If I recall correctly, Earl went 72 seconds with Amir Khan.

Then the Czar Amonsot fight. If it wasn't a Golden Boy Promotions card, that fight would have been stopped in any other jurisdiction. Czar Amonsot isn't a big puncher or a particularly snappy puncher, and he made Klitschko's cut with Lewis look like a nick. (Okay, maybe not a nick but it wasn't as bad.)

If Katsidis got hit like Diaz got hit, what would his face look like. Now take that face, does he look like that face could beat the Campbell who beat Juan Diaz?

And about pacing, that's Juan Diaz's fight. He is all punching, all the time. If he slows his pace down, then he's just a guy standing in front of you not punching. I wouldn't recommend that game plan.

He was consistently met with pressure throughout the fight. Of course the eye played a part, but I think that he truly tired because of the work from Campbell. I don't think it's fair to credit outside sources for what Nate did tonight.[/QUOTE]

I just honestly think if there's a rematch diaz wins. Some of the gloaters on here might think i'm crazy but at the end of the day he showed me he's capable of winning and deserves a rematch imo.

It was 70% body punching, and 30% Nate harassing Diaz with pitapatting uppercuts when he was trying to rest.

You cant blame the pace for Diaz getting tired. Diaz lives to fight at a mind numbing pace. Campbell nailed it.

Nobody had tested Diaz to the body, and Campbell was launching a concerted attack to the body. It paid off huge.

That's a word that I can't argue with = Confidence. Juan was definitely lacking the confidence to win, but I don't think he was scared or unwilling to trade with the guy.

Well, then that's a debate for another day. It's definitely possible that he wins a rematch.

It will depend entirely on how this loss affects him. Can he win? Certainly. Could he also end up like Forrest with Mayorga? Yes. Additionally one can't just entirely dismiss Campbell out of hand, perhaps this win will elevate his consistency of performance, though at his age he would be the (extremely) rare exception were such to occur.

Since campbell just won I consider him the best lightweight in the world. I thought diaz was the best and since campbell beat him he's now the best. Forrest has had a pretty good comeback by the way, I hope the same happens for diaz.

I have to give it to Campbell, I mean I didn't think he could do what he did tonight. He was the one in the end wearing down Diaz and taking the fight out of him. Even though Juan was still fighting strong at the end, he wasn't his same self and in 9th and 10th rounds he looked like a man that was defeated. The cut and the swelling of his eye definitely affected him as he seemed to go away from his usual style. He didn't have his hands up as good as he usually does and totally went away from that jab that had been working good for him especially in his last two fights. Campbell fought a great fight and deserved the victory, I was just nervous at the end because I thought he was going to be robbed.

This is one of those fights where I would have been happy with each guy winning, equally. I honestly couldn't even picked who I wanted to see win. So I just hoped for a good fight and got my wish. I really think Juan Diaz has nowhere to go but up in his career. He's only 24.

Forrest has certainly rallied, I meant it more in the sense of Forrest-Mayorga II. Campbell could be in Diaz's head now in a like manner.
