And apparantly beating an Arturo Gatti was KO #13 on Baldomir's resume and a pretty old journeyman in Ben Tackie suddenly makes him a credible challenger?

      Hardy har har. I'm funny.
That is funny, not to mention that Gomez also has the 160 pounder Manfredo. And yes I have to agree with you Gomez is much better competition than Bruseles.

Well besides Floyd's fight against Bruseles, at 30+ fights, Floyd was fighting Philip N'dou, and Victoriano Sosa

Do you honestly believe that or are you trying to justify the fight?

I can't think of two well known fringe contenders who are as close in style and substance as Gomez and Bruseles.

If Gatti was never great to begin with then why is it Floyd fought Bruseles and Corley to set up a fight with him instead of fighting Tszyu or Cotto?

His mandatory and guy who had just recently lost a close to decision to champion Paul Spadafora? Your point?

Mayweather-Bruseles is seen as an act against God, but Cotto-Gomez is a nice tune-up that is completely okay. I don't get that.
What's even more ignorant about it is taht they say "Floyd fought Buseles so Cotto should be able to fight Gomez" but they fail to mention that they BASH Floyd relentlessly for fighting Bruseles and should do the same to Cotto. People these days....

Make himself a PPV name. That seriously is the only reason. For legacy? **** no.

True, but please give a little context to your statements. N'dou was Floyd's mandatory. People seem to be mad that Floyd isn't fighting mandatories now, but the criticize the ones he did fight and the opponents that he fought in order to become a mandatory (e.g. Corley and Bruseles).

Sosa, only got the fight because Freitas backed out of negotiations two months before the fight was supposed to happen and HBO needed a mostly credible opponent ASAP. Personally, I would have rather seen Floyd fight Casamayor or Freitas, but they each turned down $1.5 mil. So, did Lazcano. Sosa was the best HBO could find.
