Not really. Roy incorporated a good punch with tremendous hand speed. Now if someone punches hard and you see the punch you can brace for the impact but if you don't brace for a punch you don't see than it's all she wrote.

Does a world war II American tank have the same kind of relevant firepower today as it did in the 1940's?? Same **** with Jones, he would have handled Joe Calzaghe in his prime and he already handled a young B-Hop with a broken wrist. A young Roy had the perfect style to pick apart the come forward Calzaghe all night long and knock him out c'mon now, this isn't even an argument worth contending.

it would have been a brilliant fight, the two guys with the best handspeed ever in the division. We all know Joe can take the heavy shots and had a fantastic left (pre injury) but Roy was something very special over a very narrow timeframe. All we need is a time machine and a ****ing big bag of dollars to get them to step into it!!!

Roy Jones's defense gives him a big advantage.

Roy Jones throwing straight punches gives him a speed advantage.

I think that is why Roy wins.

If Roy Jones didn't leave 168, it would have been "Calzaghe who?"

I think your wrong he would be the only one to give Roy a fight at his prime, I think he would be better known. Surely a three fight rubber between Roy and Joe would be more entertaining than the Tarver fights when he was shot. It would have been a brilliant rivalry and, if anything it would have kept Roy at the weight and at his prime for a lot longer and who would not want to see that - we got robbed of a couple of years of his best cause of his bulking up.

Roy Jones would have beaten him soundly between 1997-2000.

He may well have beaten him, but in my opinion it would have been a little bit closer than you think, but thats ok to differ, it would be a wierd ****ing place if we agreed on everything. They would have certainly brought the best out in one another at 168 IMO
