I've picked Roy over Calzaghe in the past threads (like 100 times) but I won't count Calzaghe out completely.

As Dan Birmingham (Winky Wright & Jeff Lacy's coach) said, "If it wasn't for Floyd Mayweather Joe Calzaghe would be the best fighter in the world." If Roy Jones was still in his prime now I believe he would be behind Floyd like Calzaghe is.

Calzaghe would beat any version of Jones. Joe has the speed to test the weak jaw of Jones, even in his "prime."

              Calzaghe by KO in nine.

I'm not saying Jones wasn't great, because he was. Calzaghe would be the only fighter with equal hand speed he faced and a work rate that Roy would not be use to. Plus if they fought 5-8 years ago Joe still sat on his punches more than he does now because of his hand injuries.

If Jones wasn't knocked out by Tarver and Johnson I would have this fight a pick 'em. Since Jones was knocked out twice and Calzaghe has shown the ability to rise from being knocked down twice and win convincingly, you have to favor him.

This would have been a good fight and it's a shame it didn't happen. If Jones can beat Tito convincingly I could still see this fight possibly happening if Jones is serious about fighting in Wales as he says he is.

We will never know for sure though. Jones says he's willing to fight Calzaghe in Wales at 168 this year. Do you think he can/will give Joe a run or is he just talking?

I have not seen Jones last fight. What does he have left and did he show signs of having his confidence back?
