If Roy did win which is obviously a possibility it would by no means be EASY. Bernard gave Roy a lot of trouble and I think Joe is better prime for prime than Hopkins is not to mention his southpaw stance and very high work rate capped off with a granite chin.
you cant use the bernard fight.... that was roys 21st fight... roy was green at that point... andre berto is 20-0 and hes by far what he WILL become..

high workrate only works with orthodox boxers who stand there and hold a block up and allow you to use your workrate.. when you have a counterpuncher like roy... who will hit you the second you decide to throw a punch.. all the sudeen you find your workrate is non existent

Jones never wanted any part of Calzaghe too high a risk for too little reward, If Roy Jones stayed at 168 then he would have had to have fought Calzaghe which he wasn't going to do. Don't get your knickers in a twist though Jones would have been favourite, but it would have been a tough fight for both.

It didn't look it besides, don't you remember Jones also claiming he deliburatley lost to Tarver because he didn't want his father to take any credit for the win?

He said his wrist was hurt because he realised it was a very close fight and did nothing for his hype at the time.

The wrist injury was recognized before the fight started... they mentioned it in the first round of that fight.

                  Good question.
                  But who knows?
But a prime RJJ vs a prime Zags at 168?
I have got to take Jones on this one.
Just to many skill sets for Zags to overcome. (And don't flame me, I like Calzaghe.)
But prime RJJ at 168 was basically Final wars Godzilla.
You ain't going to beat him.
