RJJ vs Hopkins II makes sense if B-Hop loses to Calzaghe. If Calzaghe loses to B-Hop, RJJ vs Calzaghe could happen. But I'd rather not see it because Roy would ruin his legacy even more with that fight.

Against Hopkins Jones has a chance because of Bernard's age but Calzaghe would outwork him like Glen Johnson did.

and also... what if he never left 160? would bernard of had his 20 defenses?
        ree****yaluss,

You're unwritten opinion is duly noted and well taken! And I agree with you that RJ beats Joe.
But I'm not ready to say that Joe would run away from the division. He IS a great champion himself. If they had ever fought in their primes, I'm sure that Joe would have made a great showing. I think he would L12, but just because you lose to a legend doesn't make you a bum either.
So many times, there have been 2 very good or borderline great fighters active in the same division. Sometimes they fought, sometimes they didn't. But I don't think world class champion fighters who have gotten that far in their career are ever afraid enough to actually run away from their natural division. Maybe they skip out for a lucrative payday or to fight someone else, but they have too much belief in themselves, even if they happen to lose once to a fighter, to ever just run away.

i agree with u... see i dont discredit joe, like some of these haters discredit roy.. i think joe is a great champion... but i think its just like floyd and ricky... both GREAT fighters, but one is on another level... im speaking of roy in his prime of course...

ill put it like this... if Joe WANTED to become a champion, and roy never left 168... i think joe would be forced to a different division to become a champion... thats the only reason i said it... u get what im sayin?

I do see what you're saying and I agree with you 100%. If Roy was the unified champ, Joe would either bulk up to 175 or try to make 160 to win a world championship, not to dodge Roy. My bet would be the 175 route.

If Calzaghe lost to Roy Jones he would go up to 175, try to beat the top competition out there and call out Jones for a rematch.
