if cotto did lose this potential fight, he would have margarito'd himself.

pwill will be a broken man after a fight w/ cotto, ree****.

I was trippin at first too, but give cotto a break he just came off of two tough fights against elite boxers in Judah & Shane! It's just a "stay-busy" fight He will beat the brakes off of Gomez & bring him back to "reality"

Margarito - Judah is actually an interesting fight! These two are notorious for coming up short in their biggest fights! If judah can stay calm & box & not looking to mix it up with Margarito then he has a good chance, but we all zab does not like pressure, (watch the baldomir, pbf, cotto fights) does not keep his cool, & slows down in the 2nd half while Toni picks it up...Marg started to get to Paul in the later rounds (who is busier & taller than Judah) & hit him with many clean shots! I think/hope he's learned that he's not a (techinal) boxer & he has to go right out & get at his man...so I'm not sure if Toni will stop Judah but i'm pretty sure he will do enough to get the Nod in a pretty decent scrap!

        Cotto should not fight Gomez

Gomez is not the figter for cotto, why mixing Gold with Clay? Bob arum is creating bad fights, I will not pay a cent to see Oscar/Floyd. after that Bolony last time. Oscar did it again, Running away and loking to kill the sport. Cotto deserve better, why fight boxers that do not bring any kind of benefits, sent Margarito and Gomez to Chihuahua.

I think this is just a stay-busy fight for Cotto, he will take on the Margarito if Margarito beats Judah.

I can understand the idea of a tune-up unlike most. The fact that Cotto couldnt get Mayweather or De La Hoya is just disappointing.

I think Clottey would have been a better choice, but if he and Cintron were in talks what can you do? Would Williams agree to fight with eight weeks to prepare? Maybe Gomez was the only guy around.

gomez is not the worst choice by far, hes a hardcore - proud ass mexican who has a good chin and gets excited to put on a show. honestly, the guy's beaten manfredo, robbed against smith and retired gatti - hes a good fighter, def not a world beater, but a good fighter none the less.

paul williams is signed on to fight quintana, buddy.

i'm thinking that the fight w/ williams gets made next.
the guy has an iron heart to go along with that iron chin

I wouldn't say so baya. The reason is this. In order to continue to build on his very successful year of 07, how can you start the new year off with that type of fight?

Hey, I so believe that Oscar is still looking for a dance partner. Oscar- Cotto in May, Mexican-American vs. Puerto Rican star! That is a fight worth waiting an extra month for, and it means more for his career and his future legacy.

What happens lets say, Gomez puts hands on him and he loses (I don't think he would)? what is the reward in beating Gomez?

The reward is much BIGGER in fighting lets say Oscar or Paul, then his dream would come true, he would get Floyd, TRUST ME!
