No, but are you telling me Oscar would have "earned more" without Floyd? Like it or not Oscar would have earnt a lot of money , but you can bet your life on it oscar would'nt have earnt nearly as much as he did with Floyd which broke PPV Records. His fight with Floyd alone earnt him more than Trinidad + Hopkins combined.

And Floyd's fight with Oscar did 6 times the numbers he had done previously, so what is your point? Do you honestly think Floyd would have cracked a million PPVs fighting anyone else prior to Oscar?

First off, we all are supposed to be fight fans....so I have never understood when folks on places like this argue over which fighter is more popular.
Since when does popularity = superiority ?

But, if you do want to go there, & want to discredit Floyd's popularity by comparing it to Oscar's....remember that a good part of Oscar DeLaHoya's popularity is based on the fact that women & gays find him attractive. The gold medal & his mother's death also helped his marketability....but it is his LOOKS that made him so huge at the box office.

And his resume, superior to Floyd's by far, had nothing to do with it?

coming off a loss - Judah
past prime - De La Hoya
              shot - Gatti
              limited - N'Dou

He will never face a prime, world-class welterweight like Cotto, or even Williams or Cintron, because he's not 100% sure he would defeat them!

Calzaghe faced and defeated the best prime, undefeated, world-class super middleweight in Mikkel Kessler. Why won't Floyd fight Cotto?
For starters you're a hater, go do something better w/ your time. Now N'dou was 31 with 30 Knockouts when mayweather faced him KNocked him out gave him a bloodclot and ended his career.

also Hatton was undefeated and called Mayweather out, and then got KNocked out.

GAtti became shot after he fought Mayweasther and got his handed to him for 6 rounds before they surrendered and waived the white flag.

Diego Chico Corrales was also undefeated when MAyweather dealt him his first lost by having his corner waive the white flag.

JUdah was scheduled to fight Mayweather before he fought Baldomir, it's not Mayweathers fault he lossed to a journeymen so in turn FLoyd beat him and Baldomir.

How is resume superior by far ? Sure, he has faced bigger opposition, but has looked miserable in a lot of it.
His performance against Trinidad, was the ultimate big fight DUD. That one fight, was more responsible than any other fight i know of, for turning people away from boxing. I had ten people at my house that night, & they vowed never to watch, or get excited by, another big fight again. They weren' lying.

see the difference is, Cotto now just broke through. He had his test in Mosley (who was an elite) and is now looking for the big names. Mayweather has been in the championship game for years. same goes with Paul.. Pauls just getting started in the big tyme and had his test in Marg.

Roger Mayweather has fought better competition than Floyd has.
