Has anyone else noticed that all of Floyd Mayweather Jr's opponents have been:

smaller - Hatton, who was at a 6" reach disadvantage
coming off a loss - Judah
past prime - De La Hoya
shot - Gatti
limited - N'Dou

He will never face a prime, world-class welterweight like Cotto, or even Williams or Cintron, because he's not 100% sure he would defeat them!

Calzaghe faced and defeated the best prime, undefeated, world-class super middleweight in Mikkel Kessler. Why won't Floyd fight Cotto?

also Hatton was undefeated and called Mayweather out, and then got KNocked out.

GAtti became shot after he fought Mayweasther and got his handed to him for 6 rounds before they surrendered and waived the white flag.

Diego Chico Corrales was also undefeated when MAyweather dealt him his first lost by having his corner waive the white flag.

JUdah was scheduled to fight Mayweather before he fought Baldomir, it's not Mayweathers fault he lossed to a journeymen so in turn FLoyd beat him and Baldomir.

How is resume superior by far ? Sure, he has faced bigger opposition, but has looked miserable in a lot of it.
His performance against Trinidad, was the ultimate big fight DUD. That one fight, was more responsible than any other fight i know of, for turning people away from boxing. I had ten people at my house that night, & they vowed never to watch, or get excited by, another big fight again. They weren' lying.

well you rarely see a fighting fighting elite anyway it not the 70s or 80s.

Cotto never faced an elite not did Margarito or Paul Williams

see the difference is, Cotto now just broke through. He had his test in Mosley (who was an elite) and is now looking for the big names. Mayweather has been in the championship game for years. same goes with Paul.. Pauls just getting started in the big tyme and had his test in Marg.
