If you're giving credit to oscar for fighting the best then give fernando vargas three times the credit for doing everything oscar did at a younger age and in less fights then oscar. Also give credit to quartey and gatti for fighting the best. In my eyes **** all this bs about oscar fought the best. To be the best you have to beat the best and thats not the case with oscar. And boxing revolves around money. Everyone knows oscar got handled by strum. It wasn't even a close decision oscar got handled by someone his size, but in order for the dlh vs hopkins fight to take place oscar had to win so of course boxing being crooked at times oscar was giving the win in a gift box with a bow on top so the dlh vs hopkins fight can take place. And then he goes and gets knocked out by a body punch lmao. So now he is back calling out people smaller then him. lmao what a joke. there is plenty of people at 154 or 160 to make a good competitive fight. but whatever oscar should just stick to promoting this bull**** of calling out smaller fighters fighting once a year is garbage. If your not going to be competitive and try to accomplish something inside the ring then dont step in it.

you and me share many of the same opinions. your point about vargas doing what oscar did years before and years younger was right on point.

what i don't like about oscar is his lack of heart and guts is so apparent. yet he likes to get on t.v. and say what a warrior he is. who has seen oscar in a war?

and no one can really say oscar has fought the best his size.
mayweather is a jr welter and he hasn't dared to mention winky, taylor, spinks, forrest, ouma or karmizan. why not? any of these fighters would sign to fight oscar tomorrow.

and you won't hear him mention margarito, cotto, williams or cintron.
but he has mentioned pac man. what a joke.......

Now i wouldnt go as far as saying he doesnt have heart. He did show tremendous heart against quartey especially in 12th round he was going for it all and was standing there throwing punches toe to toe with quartey(because he and his corner knew the only way to win was a KO that is why he came out the way he did). He also showed good courage against vargas. And him willing to fight these people shows he has heart, dedication, and not scared to take on a challenge. I just don't give him as much credit as far as atg goes considering he lost just about every big fight he was in. i strongly believe he lost to strum, the 2nd mosley fight is very close if i had had had to choose a winner i give it to oscar by a very very small margin. I feel he lost to quartey and pernell not to mention pernell was past his prime. fighting the best and beating the best are two different things.

i'm speaking more of his recent "career" moves. he only fought sturm to set up the hopkins fight or else that fight would have NEVER happened.

he only foght mayorga because that was the easiest way to get the jr middle belt and trinidad had exposed him

          peace....

we say it because we saw it and it is on film too. watch it and then come back and tell me that was a legit "dive", I dare you.

and then to top it off, he pounds his glove on the canvas like he was upset he couldn't continue. that is why i say he has no heart.

Yeah, Oscar has no skill. Neither do the opponents he beat as a pro, or in the AM days. He won the gold medal as a fluke. The opponents who beat him, but had a relatively hard time with him, really suck too. I think he should die, and I don't know him.

...............Ass. Mayweather, the best JR Welterweight in history? Get the **** outta here.. Chavez, Pryor could beat Mayweather at 140.

you might be right about chavez. i have chavez ranked as my best fightter all time so i have excluded him from weight divisions.

as far as pryor forget it. without his two wins over the legend arguello, no on e would know his name today. pryor only had i think what 6 title fights his whole career? two of those against arguello and the rest to nobodies except that kid that got the split decision loss to benitez.

u are missing the point why would he take a dive against someone who is alot bigger than and stronger than him and TAKE LESS MONEY!!!!

thats my point u make these alligations he shoulda lost or he got robbed or has no heart but have no proof he won those fight he "shoulda" lost so whatever

i respect your opinion but will never agree. to be considered a great fighter you have to beat a great fighter. tell me which great fighter does oscar have a victory over. and don't try to use chavez or whitaker both of whom were way past their prime and whitaker got shafted anyway.

that is why i put oscar in the same category as gatti. gatti has fought great fighters but like oscar always loses. gatti has shown more blood and guts though....
