no, 146 makes him a Welterweight.

    Welterweight is 140.1lb to 147.0lb
147 is the weight limit, that does not mean you cannot fall anywhere inbetween.

Technically, okay, you are a Jr. Middleweight, but we all know you don't belong there any more than Floyd belongs at 147.
not true. oscar walks around at 180+ pounds. and has been fighting at 154 or higher since 2001.

i think you are confusing walk around weight and fight weight. for example miguel cotto walks around at 160+ lbs but will shed weight to get down to 147. the same as all the other WW's.

Floyd walks around at 146 and did not shed any weigth to fight hatton or ODH to minimize ant size disadvantage. in reality he is the size of a jr welter. and he could also make 135.

That doesn't make him a 154lb fighter any more than James Toneys mascaraed at Heavyweight made James Toney a heavyweight.

You are confusing yourself. Obviously Floyd is not a natural WW and would have very little trouble making 135lb which is where I think he should have stayed, but he was off on his moving up in weight campaign.
What he fails to realize is that moving up in weight is respectable when you cannot make the weight any more.

Like Ray Leonard Ray Robinson Roy Jones, You move up once making weight becomes difficult, not just for ****s and giggles to grab a belt. Thats why Floyd is walking around 146

He should still be fighting 135lb 140lb at the most, but his "FIGHTS" Im not sure if that is the proper description of them, at 147 and 154 where just a farce. An attempt to steal status rather than earn it the hard way like every other fighter does. You grab your belts, defend them until you cant make weight any more then you move up and do it again.

I feel that if you have moved up in weight, you should not be able ever make that weight again in your life. If somebody offered floyd 100million guaranteed, to fight at 130lb, Id bet my life that Floyd could make the weight.

Thats not how it should be. If you move up in weight, you shouldn't be able to get back down to that weight regardless of motivation or money.

i think that there are a few other good points to consider.

1 floyd and anyone at 140 and below is a complete mismatch. think about it, other than hatton, because of the money, who else is there at 140 or below?

2 floyd is the first fighter in history to win titles in 5 weight classes

              3. floyd has always had his sites on ODH and used the WW division to get himself ready for that size a fighter. what other fighter has the ability to do that?

4 your opinion of one staying and defending until can no longer make the weight is admirable but if YOU were offered an eight figure deal to fight one of the Klitchko brothers are you telling me you would stay in your divison and defend your title for peanuts and principal? hardly.

Actually Oscar De La Hoya has held titles in 6 different weight classes. So Floyd is not the first.

And the only meaningful titles Mayweather has held were at SFW, LW and WW.
Winning paper titles from Gatti and De La Hoya isn't much.

It's still a remarkable achievement though.

It has been said many times to be considered the best you have to beat the best. Oscar has fought the best but has not beaten the best. Give oscar credit for fighting them but dont give him credit as the best or atg because he is not. You have to beat all those great fighters you went up against to be considered atg. If you're giving credit to oscar for fighting the best then give fernando vargas three times the credit for doing everything oscar did at a younger age and in less fights then oscar. Also give credit to quartey and gatti for fighting the best. In my eyes **** all this bs about oscar fought the best. To be the best you have to beat the best and thats not the case with oscar. And boxing revolves around money. Everyone knows oscar got handled by strum. It wasn't even a close decision oscar got handled by someone his size, but in order for the dlh vs hopkins fight to take place oscar had to win so of course boxing being crooked at times oscar was giving the win in a gift box with a bow on top so the dlh vs hopkins fight can take place. And then he goes and gets knocked out by a body punch lmao. So now he is back calling out people smaller then him. lmao what a joke. there is plenty of people at 154 or 160 to make a good competitive fight. but whatever oscar should just stick to promoting this bull**** of calling out smaller fighters fighting once a year is garbage. If your not going to be competitive and try to accomplish something inside the ring then dont step in it.
