stop using that arguement. its an insult to Ali and what he fought for.
Like i told you earlier man, people dont relate to him, thats the bottom line, there are many different reasons but in and out of the ring, he makes it hard for people to relate to him outside of the culture he abides by/comes from. Majority of people are not going to just look at his in ring ****.

Floyd does have a limited fan base.. in the united states alone he made less than what Oscar De La Hoya did fighting Mayorga (someone unknown to most casual fans) with Ricky Hatton who was undefeated. Mayorga v. Oscar wasn't even hyped as much as this fight was yet it still did more. Mayweather could have won over America Cinco De Mayobut he chose to pop shot and make a boring fight instead. You don't have to take a look at PPV numbers or who fills up the arenas with more fans though, just look at this forum.. Most his fans are former Roy Jones fans who have nothing else to cling on to so they cling on to him and then the rest are Stanboys who you could probably count with just both hands.

Ali did the same thing (without throwing money). So don't give me that ****. The only thing that's an insult is you trying to divide the two.

Because the majority of you havent been following floyds entire career, you dont know that he didnt always downtalk his opponents, his dad used to do it more than he did. Regardless, floyd didnt have that hype behind him because he wasnt the kind of fighter people related to. People dont relate to perfection, majority hated Ali also, for the same reasons, he rubbed it in your face and looked so beautiful in his wins.

I think you are just assuming PBF's majority fanbase is a bunch of young people and that isnt true, majority of his fans are black period, young or not, black people love him, because we have always liked/related to fighters like PBF, the style/manner he carries himself in the ring is how the majority of the best black fighters have fought, weather its Jones Jr, Ali, or Whitaker. When everyone else was hating these guys, blacks rallied around them.

You are looking at this **** from a messageboard angle and thats it.
The majority of his fans are young black fans who subscribe to the whole hip hop culture because they are into the whole flashy materialistic bull**** and think how many chains or diamonds a person is wearing makes the man. His fans are very narrow minded, don't have a broad perspective and usually are the fools you see in school who have nothing going for them because their definition of a great future is owning some dubs and a platinum chain, thinking being thug is cool.

Floyd connects with this base perfectly but alienates himself from everyone else.

hahaha. you try so hard to justify floyd's behavior by comparing to someone who fought for civil rights and was a political activist? The only thing that Floyd and Ali had in common was talking **** about their opponents. thats it but thats not why Floyd is hated. Get that through your groupie ass head.
