Why is Floyd's fanbase so small?

Do you think Floyd will ever get an ovation with 1/1000th of the intensity that Hatton got? Floyd has no evident fan base. No one cheers him, no one would go out of their way to go to England to support him. His only fans seem to be like a few oddballs in boxing forums.

They all came to see Hatton, they all paid to see Oscar.

Seriously, how many Floyd fans would buy tickets if he fought Cintron?

Floyd piggy backs by fighting big superstars with huge followings. It remains to be seen if Floyd captures Hatton's and Oscar's fans and adds them to his fanbase. I doubt it.

Fighters like Tyson, Tito, Duran, Cotto, Oscar when you see them you almost get chills knowing how great they are. Fans go nuts when they see them, and they get huge cheers when they are at ringside for fights. Mayweather gets nothing even remotely close. And ten or 20 yers down the road, I don't think he;ll get it either. Fans just don't warm up to the guy for some reason.

because he belittles the average joe. the only people he appeals to are the younger, materialistic generation and people who are subject to being groupies. im a FAN of mayweahter's, not just a FANATIC and when i call the BS of a fanatic, im called a "hater". thats how this game goes.

He might not have fans that would travel to other countrys like Hatton has,but Floyd can sell out the big arenas, from now on,any Floyd fight will be a sell out,so to say hes got a small fanbase is ******,he can put asses in seats

since the majority of the people in his last 4 fights rooted for the opposer.

If Floyd fought every fight like he did Round 8 against Hatton, he'd be a huge hit. He'd also be as exciting as Calzaghe. In fact, Floyd in that round was the best I've seen anybody in a few years, and maybe even better than Calzaghe. But the potshotting and staying out of range will never be popular.
