There's alot of that as well. I believe we call them "******s."

Of course - the more you're "visible" in a region, the more interest you have. But then the interest in other markets would be less. Calzaghe wasn't exactly a household name in the UK until he started having fights on terrestrial TV. Swings and roundabouts.

And even against these other nobodies as you call them, and I agree there have been some, Thornberry, Starie and Kid Fire Mckintyre to name a few...history has taught us its easy to lose these kind of fights just look back at Tyson vs Buster, Roy Jones vs Montell Griffin, Lewis vs Rahman, the list goes on.

To not do that for over 10 years, and keep fighting through spells when your hand is broken and wrist feels likes it going to snap takes a very special fighter.

He deserves a lot more respect than the "average fan" in America gives him. It seems the only way he could've gotten that respect was by fightin Bernard and Roy Jones 5 years ago......I think it would have been a close fight with both, definitely RJJ who was simply awesome, but they ducked him, what could he do about that!

The "average fan" including yourself seems to be ignorant to any fighter, fighting outside of the USA and thats nothin to be proud about.

lol i'm white and British but I wanted Tyson to beat Bruno in both of their fights, I wanted Tyson to beat Lewis too.
Everyone I know was wanting Tyson to lose those fights , when they asked why I was rooting for Tyson I said because I'm a massive Tyson fan.
I like Bruno, not keen on Lewis but when it comes down to it I want my favourites to win regardless of their race or culture.

No doubt. That's what makes this surprising and disappointing.

Alot of people missed out on some world class Boxing.
