Maybe the true boxing fans that pay for fights are more concerned about the quality of fight theyre gonna see after shelling out hard earned dollars.
The fight was free on HBO.

      Not whatsoever. Not at all.

The White race is more important to the average White American. By far.

Now people know why calzaghe isnt PPV, good fighter no doubt, but not a draw in america if the original thread post is to be believed.

Well I guess boxing fans had no interest in either of them then, nothing to do with race they just musnt excite the American public enough to get people viewing them.

with the exception of floyd mayweather yes. Although at work i overheard a good white friend of mine saying some funny **** like "they lost the revolutionary war, they lost the war of 1812, and look at this ****, another failed invasion of the colonies by losing the mayweather war"

that **** had me laughin, but then i remembered tyson/lewis.

But with floyd mayweather i mean, i think whites may have generally been on the fence because on one hand, that dancing with the stars **** really put his name out, but then people find out about all the **** he talked, i think people were curious. But i think after knocking hatton out, i think he definately gained the support of this country as a whole, especially since, if i remember, when mayweather started putting a beating on hatton, the "USA" chant resurfaced for the first time since the Castillo fight.

Regardless, the Louis/Schmeling fight was a huge deal in a time where blacks might as well been 3rd class citizens in this country, so your point is very valid.

A fight between two European fighters doesn't draw as many viewers in America as a fight including an American?

              I'm shocked. Really.

And Louis was considered a good "boy" in very condescending terms by the people of that period. It was also about beating the "****" and the US was more purely nationalistic at that time. Times have changed to say the least.

Hahaha, seriously though if it was a fight between two Europeans who had fought in America against top American names and won in style would people be more interested in it ??

                    I'll give you another example.

When WHITE historians name off the greatest heavyweights, why is it always an American? Hardly even Marciano. So, they have a white option. But they usually go with Ali, Frazier, Louis.. Even Tyson.. Before they go with a foreign choice. (Or Marciano)

Nationalism is way more important to a country that feels patriotic. (They aren't generally, because they forget what that actually means.. but they feel it.)

I would think so. However, many many other championship bouts have taken place on HBO with two non-American, mostly non-White fighters and this was the lowest rated in history. Race has something to do with it. Calzaghe and Kessler were two good looking, undeafeated, superstars in Europe and they can't do better numbers than Guzman vs. Soto or Ponce De Leon vs. Bautista??
