Robinson, Greb, Armstrong, Langford, Ali, Duran, Leonard, Ross, Walker, Whitaker, Pep, Leonard, Louis, etc etc.

Which of those would he outrank?
Again: Tell me (WITHOUT LOOKING) who Harry Greb beat.

That's the problem. Guys created a top p4p list 50 years ago, and it's almost as if we are not allowed to move those guys off the top of that list.

The reality is that Tim Duncan is MUCH better than Bill Russell. Similarly, it would not surprise me if FMJ beat the snot out of Sandy Saddler or Willie Pep.

Why? Why am I not allowed to look? Does that change the fact that it's the truth, regardless if someone has memorized it all or not? I have by the way, I have his resume written down.

It won't change if the fighters don't surpass their accomplishments. Whitaker had his last fight in 2001 by the way, hardly 50 years ago.

Boxing is a totally different sport than Basketball, don't compare the two.

Mayweather in my opinion does beat those two(he is also bigger), though his career does not surpass the career of either of them.

That as well. Coming from a natural MW as well. Actual fight footage is the only thing keeping him behind Robinson on my list. I heard it is out there as well, the Walker fight and even one with Tunney, but the anonymous guy won't give it up. What a bastard!

And 98% of boxing fans couldn't tell you which of those guys were better than Hatton, Corrales and castillo.

....which is why I say that comparing across eras is always an iffy exercise.

If I tell you that Manfredy would have TKO'd Loughran, what would you say? And why do you even need to fight a guy FIVE times? Should you get more credit for fighting a guy a 4th and fifth time.. or less credit? Who knows?

Yes. I know when Pernell fought. Thanks. But the reality is that the Mount Rushmore of boxing has changed LITTLE in fifty years.
