Mayweather: "Cotto Knows He Can't Beat Me"
He has youth, Speed , power, all he has to do is be smart it not necessarily experience. He has to come with a game plan. Ricky Hatton was putting a good fight against Mayweather in the beginning rounds, but he couldn't keep his hands up. I think Berto is better than Hatton at this point in his career.
They both fought collazo and Berto put on a better fight.
I wish Berto well, I like him. But Collazo gave him fits and in the minds of many won that fight. Floyd is fast, slicker and better defensively than Collazo and has plenty of experience against world class elite fighters. Berto isn't ready for that yet, I would bet my house on it. Maybe we'll get to find out one of these days, but I wouldn't bet on that.Comment

and cotto replied "Mayweather will box his best. He is a good fighter. See we will what bring to the table he will and ehhh. He top condition, me top condition. He can say that, he professional he is. Me too. Doesn't want to fight, ok, alone eh leave him be eh let him be"Comment

How about instead of worry about mayweather's legacy...you worry about Cotto's..
- When is Cotto going to proved to the world that he is a great fighter?
- when is he going to be a undisputed champion of a division?
- when is he going to be a fighter of the year over a combined 9 times?
- When is he going to be pound for pound # 1 in boxing for a 3 year period?
- when is he going to moved up 5 weight classes ?
- When is he going to be undisputed champion in 3 Divisions?
- When is he going to beat 2 top 10 undefeated pound 4 pound fighters?
- When is he going to have 8 title defense in one division?
- When is he going to Fight Paul Williams
- When is he going to actually win a title?
- When is he going to stop fighting for vacant titles?
- When is he going to improved his defense?
- When is he going to fight Joshua Clottey?
- When is he going to beat Margarito?
- When is he going to learn how to stop upper cuts and straight right hands
- When is he going to prove that he is hall of fame worthy...
- When is he going to take a fight in which he is not ready and not favored?
Instead of worry about Floyd's legacy, you should worry about Cotto's!!Comment

Who's trying to compare Cotto and Floyd? Everyone knows Floyd's accomplished more in his career, it's pointless to bring that up.
The vacant title thing is kind of ****** though...it's who you fight. Floyd beat Baldomir for the undisputed WW championship....Cotto fought Quintana for the Vacant WBA Belt...Cotto's win was more impressive because of who he fought, not whether it was a vacant title or not.
You have some good arguments, but you put wayyy too much stock into the vacant title thing.Comment

imagine if floyd only won all of his titles by fighting contenders for vacant belts....Honestly and objectively..and when i say contenders i mean contenders.
What do you think the response would be from the boxing world???Comment

How can Cotto beat him if he would have to drive all the way to Dearborn, MI climb 2 security fences wrestle with Leonard gently move Mayweather's mom out of the way and punch Mayweather in the liver.
It's not as easy as you guys think.Comment

But when it comes to Mayweather, if some of those wins for vacant titles were against guys of Quintana's level than I honestly don't think there would be much criticism.
You have to remember, Quintana was undefeated, a real WW while Cotto was moving up, and was coming off a great win over Joel Julio...he was a legit opponent.
And Pinto turned out to be not much, but at the time he was an undefeated Olympian that beat Cotto in the am's.
I'm not comparing Cotto to Mayweather....I'm not ******ed, there's no comparison. And a lot of your points on what Cotto still has to do to reach elite level are true and I agree with a lot of what you're saying. But some of your points are reaches.Comment
