Mayweather: "Cotto Knows He Can't Beat Me"

WBC welterweight champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. (39-0, 25KOs) is not interested in a potential fight with WBA champ Miguel Cotto (31-0, 25KOs) of Puerto Rico, at least for now. In a recent interview with Franklin McNeil of the New Jersey Star-Ledger, Mayweather gave his thoughts on Cotto trying to lure him into a fight by revealing his strategy to win. Mayweather, as one can expect, does not agree with Cotto's fight plan. More important than that, he doesn't feel the fight makes any financial sense at the moment. [details]

Cotto's remedy to beat me is pressure, pressure, pressure. That's not the remedy to beat me."
That's true, I was surprised when Cotto said that. He cant fight Mayweather like he fought Judah, he needs to fight him like Mosely with a little more emphasis on body punching and cutting off the ring.

Mayweather is just hyping this fight up by breaking it down. Its a gauge to see how much the public wants the fight to happen. Mayweather is a veru shrewd and intelligent business man. He just doesn't have an eye for talent; he put too much hype into Wes Ferguson.

Money Mayweather has proved everything he needs to in the sport of boxing. Time for him to move along to bigger and better things. Goodbye Floyd, hello new generation of Pound 4 Pound champs.

Oh no, he hasn't proved everything he needs to in the sport. He has beaten some really good fighters and is now proving himself a great. I have all faith in his abilities, but until of late his opponents weren't that of an all-time great.

Cotto would give Floyd a tough fight but he would find a way to beat him the way he always does. He's too fast, too skilled and too smart.

So Mayweather is already talking about this fight?
It's going to happen folks. Cotto has got a pelt with his win over Moseley.
Mayweather and Hatton got 1.5 million PPV buys.
The money will be there. Mayweather ducking Cotto?
                  Nope.
Cotto better start ducking lead rights and his own fair share of body shots when this fight goes down.
Probably entertaining for about 5 rounds or so...
And then Mayweather just starts to break Cotto down.
Just calling it how I see it.

How can he not talk about it? I'm sure Cotto's name is brought up in every interview he does.
